Whether upgrading or replacing broken lenses, the average home mechanic should be able to replace each lens in under 30 minutes with common tools.

Start by pulling back the small plastic cap circled above to reveal the nut that retains the headlight wiper. Remove the nut and slide the wiper arm off of the shaft. With the arm off, carefully remove the washer fluid line. Making sure all washer related parts are out of the way, remove the headlight trim piece. I suggest you start on the inboard side and work your way out. The trim is held in with the retainers circled below. Take the time now to locate the eight lens clips. There should be four across the bottom, three across the top, and one on the inboard side. The clips are easily removed with a small flat head screwdriver. Take care not to break any of the fragile parts when removing the clips. The lens will now lift out. Removing the side turn signals may be helpful, if this is the first time you have worked with the headlights. Installing the replacement is as simple as replacing the seal and pressing the new lens into place. Carefully position the lens and replace the 8 clips.

Before you start putting the car back together, you may want to take the time and wax some of the hard to reach places. It is also a good time to coat the lenses with a good layer of your favorite water repellent. The trim retainer clips circled above install in a staggered configuration. The outboard clip should be down with the inboard clip up, as shown above. Working from the outside in, pop the trim back into place making sure you have the fluid line threaded through the trim. Now slide the wiper arm back onto the splines and re-install the nut.
