The best location I could find for the probe was on the bottom side of the turbo. While the probe can be placed further down the exhaust track, I opted not to for greater accuracy. When picking a location for the probe, make sure it will not interfere with the compressor wheel of the turbo, or the internal wastegate. Shown below in the mount I used for the EGT.

There are tons of options on where to actually mount the gauge. I opted for an AC/Heater vent. Whatever option you use, you can fish the wires in the same mannerr as if you were doing a boost gauge.
