There are several things to keep in mind when mounting your harness. The first aspect to address is security. Your harness should be mounted to something at least as strong as the stock mounting points. Another major concern is the shoulder strap angle. The shoulder straps should not be more than a 45 degree downwards angle. If a 45 degree angle is exceeded you risk serious spinal compression in the event of an accident. The check list for harnesses is a long one. Before you even think about relying on any belt, put some research into it. Look into the latest FIA or SCCA standards. For a street car those standards should act as a good set of guidelines.
If you opt for a wrap around installation, you need to wrap the belts in the correct manor. There are two slots cut in each buckle. The belt needs to go through each slot twice to be installed correctly, as shown below. If you have any doubts , ask someone for help. This belt is nothing more than a 3 inch wide strap that could save or cost you your life. Check and recheck to make sure everything is up to spec!
