Now lift up the back of the console while pulling back slowly. You have to get pretty high to clear the hand brake and the shifter. The wiring from the black and gray connectors will come with the console and the OBD II and wiring that goes to the bottom of the front tray stay . The arrow is pointing to wiring that gets hung up on the hand brake lever, just work the wire forward around the hand brake handle. Don't pull the console back too far prior to clearing the hand brake handle.

The gray cable with the purple tape is the mechanical lock that goes up to your ignition switch. Pull in the area of the yellow circle to pull it out of the bracket it is in. Once free of the bracket pull it up and rest it on the solenoid (yellow arrow) This gets the cable out of the way because the green wire from the solenoid goes into the micro switch. (Below the solenoid)

With the cable up out of the way, if you get down and look in on the right side, underneath the solenoid is the holder with the shift micro switch (green circle) The orange arrow is pointing to the SRS harness (the harness should be orange) The blue arrow is pointing to the connector for the micro switch. The black lead comes from the solenoid and the green wire from one side of the micro switch. Push in on the little clip and pull back with the green wires and the switch assembly will come out of its holder.

This is the way the switch and holder goes back in , I use needle nose pliers to hold the holder and work it back in the hole until it clips into place. The micro switch clips into the holder.

This is the other side of the switch assembly. By pulling back on the clips where the yellow arrows are you can take the switch out of the holder. How you put the new one in is up to you. Some people cut the wires and solder the new one in , I usually disconnect the wires at the switch, take the wires off the new switch and solder the switch in with the in place wires. If someone has been in there before and used the solderless crimps I remove them, I want straight wire or at least a good solder job. If I have to solder, then I use shrink tubing, wrapping electrical tape in the cramped quarters is not my specialty.

Last picture, I just put it in because it shows the shift lock cable up on to of the solenoid, and the hole where the switch assembly goes back in.
