Your console
accessory tray door broke off and you would like to
replace it? However you cannot replace the door itself you must remove
the console and replace the entire insert. This should help you remove
the console and replace the insert tray.
Start
by removing your handbrake trim it just snaps out.
Next open the back half of the
console. There is a trim panel on the
bottom inside that also just snaps out, remove it and you will see 2
torx screws underneath. Remove both of the torx screws.
Now you must remove your lower
trim panels on the console. Look at the
bottom inside corner of each front seat and you will see a plastic trim
fastner on each side. Rotate this a 1/2 turn releasing it from the
console. Now slide the entire trim panel rearward releasing that from
the console.
Move to the front of the
console, carefully remove the small trim piece
under the power point (cigarette lighter) and heater controls. Use a
tiny flatblade screwdriver for this, it also just
snaps in place. With that removed you will see 2 torx screws one on the
left and one on the right, remove both.
Next is the trim piece covered
in felt/fuzzies under the shift
indicator plate. There is a screw at the back of the piece remove this
and lift that piece out.
Go to the back seat and lift
the rear of the console upward, reach up
underneath and unplug your rear power point(cigarette lighter)
connector.
The console is now ready to
come out. Lift up on the rear making the
console at about a 45degree angle from the floor and pull it slightly
rearward. Now just lift it up and out of the vehicle.
This
is the new accessory tray waiting to be installed.
Take the console to a clean
area and turn it upside down. You will see
the 4 torx screws holding it in place, remove them and lift the old
tray
out. Install the new tray and your ready for re-installation of the
console.
Reverse
procedure to install and your new console tray with a door is now ready
for use.
Finished
project.
