RS coilover system from D2 is a 36 way adjustable dampner and rebound full coilover system. The setup has seperate height and preload adjustments allowing for optimal adjustment and allowing full strut travel at all times along with pillowball upper mounts or top mounts. Mounts are made of 6061 powder coated aluminum thats is heat treated to T6. Teflon coating on the threads helps prevent rust. Rebuildable and serviceable.

For the simple reason these will outlast the OEM links these are a great upgrade. Now factor in that they are adjustable and they become the perfect accessory for a coil over suspension or any performance suspension for that matter. If you havent upgrade springs or swaybars get those first. But if you are looking for that final tuning edge then these are for you.

Performance is a very personal thing when it comes to handling. If you want an ultra low show car that will never see real road use, then these are not the springs for you. The lowering these springs provide is fairly modest. As for spring rate I find these springs well suited for street use, but would recommend something stiffer for the serious track person. Over all these springs are very well suited for the average performance minded commuter.

The struts are hard to rate for several reasons. They are stiffer and heavier than the OE struts. Over small bumps they do a better job of smoothing out the ride but, have a tendency to be a little rough on less refined roads. If you are a performance oriented commuter then these are great struts for you. However, if you're looking for a smooth ride, look elsewhere. Many companies advertise these struts as having a smoother ride overall, but I have yet to experience this. Note: The lower rating is not because the struts are bad--it has more to do with the advertising of the product and it's claims for a smoother, plusher ride. Despite this, I highly recommend these struts for the performance minded driver.

The combinations possible with this kit make it ideally suited for anyone who is picky about how their car rides. Keep in mind this kit is very firm. On the softest rebound settings the suspension is still firmer than stock. The rear springs can be changed if needed but the overall goal of this kit was for performance not comfort. If it is comfort you are looking for, I would suggest a set up of something like Bilsteins and IPD springs.

These shocks can be installed with common tools in about 2 hours by the average do-it-yourselfer. The only tricky part is removing/installing the upper shock mounts. For this either a spanner or an offset box wrench work best. The only thing that detracts from these shocks is they effect ride height. Note: These shocks will slightly raise lowered and R model cars. 10mm seems to be typical, not the commonly advertised 20mm.

The overall rating is misleading in some regards. The rating would have been much higher if not for some installation related problems. This is an excellent upgrade for any Volvo owner. The installation of this product had some snags. Nothing that would stop me from purchasing it, but something to consider before you start out expecting a 10 minute job.
