The Mintex Red Box pads normally come with the shims precut and installed. But for some reason the more expensive C-Tech pads do not. Cutting the shims and installing them takes about 15 minutes. However, custom cutting the shims does not produce the same factory look. This may or may not be of concern depending on your rims, and how much of the calipers you can see.
With a higher wet boiling point, this fluid will continue to function properly longer then conventional brake fluids. Ate recommends that you change your fluid every two to three years. When your next change interval arrives, Ate is an excellent choice.
Wow! What more is there to say? Typically brake upgrades do not provide a huge difference in breaking distance at normal speeds for the first stop. I originally considered the kit as a way to help control green fade during repeated braking. After the installation though I thought I was feeling a reduction in braking distance.
If you want a better look for your brakes and have a spare day one weekend, this is a good upgrade. Allow yourself lots of time. Also make sure you have a torque wrench to refit the tires before you begin.
These rotors were manufactured with an emphasis on tight tolerances where appropriate, namely the rotor thickness, Other aspects were not as tightly controlled, i.e. errors in the concentricity of machined cross drilled ventilation holes and the cast chamfers were readily apparent to the naked eye. These imperfections however are not indicative of a defective product or design but rather indicate an intent to apply manufacturing costs only where they will benefit the performance of the rotor.
