Bilstein Struts
Need heavier struts?

Rating scale is from 1 to 10. Low being 1 high being 10
Rating: 8.3
If
you're looking for better performance and more handling, this is a
great upgrade to do with springs.
Fit: 9
These
struts fin in the car perfectly. The only aspect of installation that
might prove tricky is reusing a few of the old parts. Due to the need
for a spring compressor, this installation is best left to
experienced mechanics. Installation
instructions to come. Check back often
Finish: 9
The
finish on these struts are something I would expect to see on a rally
car. The heavy gauge metal is thoroughly coated with a durable layer
of yellow paint. Despite the rough shipping and the installation
process they showed no signs of chipping. I feel it would have been a
nice touch though, if they came with new dust boots.
Performance:

The
struts are hard to rate for several reasons. They are stiffer and
heavier than the OE struts. Over small bumps they do a better job of
smoothing out the ride but, have a tendency to be a little rough on
less refined roads. If you are a performance oriented commuter then
these are great struts for you. However, if you're looking for a
smooth ride, look elsewhere. Many companies advertise these struts as
having a smoother ride overall, but I have yet to experience this.
Note: The lower rating is not because the struts are bad--it has more
to do with the advertising of the product and it's claims for a
smoother, plusher ride. Despite this, I highly recommend these struts
for the performance minded driver.
Note: I will publish any issues as they arise.
