The higher flowing replacement for the V2 Filter

Dragon Filter available from Weapon

Rating scale is from 1 to 10. Low being 1 high being 10
Rating: 8.3
The Weapon R Dragon Filter is a good step
in the improvement of the V2. However, there are still minor issues to be
addressed. Hopefully, as this evolution continues, so will the refinement
in this line of filters.
Fit:
8
A good fit can be achieved with the provided bracket with a slight modification.
The bracket manages to keep the filter off the bottom of the car. However,
the robustness of the bracket seems questionable. The new set up also has
a redesigned coupler. The new coupler is separate from the filter, giving
it a chance to possibly become disconnected in use. When installing the coupler,
silicone grease may be needed to aid sliding the filter into place. For

Finish: 8
The finish on the Dragon
filter is leaps and bounds better than that of the V2. Several issues have
been fixed. Most notably the filter element. Pore density has been doubled
to 80 ppi, and the element is now replaceable. To add to that, the elements
also come in various colors. On the older V2, you were forced to buy a new
filter if your element started to show signs of wear or was damaged. The new
replaceable element of the Dragon is a great improvement.
Performance: 9
Based on a calibrated boost gauge,
the turbo spools up slightly quicker. At the higher RPM ranges this filter
can be very loud, and even heard over the exhaust. Without the optional heat
shield, this units performance could possibly suffer off the line, depending
on your climate.
Note: I will publish any issues as they arise.
