E-code Lenses

These lenses are an excellent upgrade for either a show oriented person, or anyone with a cracked headlight lens. The lenses are similar in weight to the original ones, but are not Volvo branded lenses. Instead they are stamped DJPJTO, not Volvo. The quality is very high and they do meet all of the standards.

Fit: 10
The fit is on par with an OEM light. No surprises, or modifications needed. An experienced mechanic could install each side in under 10 minutes. Click here for installation instructions.

Finish: 9
The only drawback was the gasket that came with it. It required cutting and was not a true gasket due to a split in it. A true "O" style gasket (like the OE) would be more appropriate.

Performance: N/A
Their performance is hard to rate. Based on a beam pattern test, the lenses throw more light to the side of the car. When driving, it is clear the pattern is altered. From an illumination stand point, there is no additional light output from just adding lenses. If you are looking for a modified look, or are not interested in HIDs this is the way to go. The e-code lens does look different, but do not expect miracles from just a lens. The lens upgrade is a great one if you want to change the look of your Volvo.

As you can see the e-code lens (top) has less diffusion lines than the standard DOT lens.
