Infinity Kappa 2002 Series

Looking for great sounding speakers under 200 dollars?

Rating scale is from 1 to 10. Low being 1 high being 10

Rating: 8
These are great speakers. If you plan on getting them, you need to either be comfortable removing doors and cutting metal, or plan on paying for a professional installation.

Fit: 5
Much like other Kappa series speakers, these will fit in the car, but not without a lot of adjustments. Two main problems complicate the installation. The first issue is the external crossover. While it is great for higher end installations and custom stereos, it does not lend itself well to installations with limited space. The other issue is the diameter of the speaker itself. The speaker is almost 5.25" throughout its entire depth. If you plan to install these, expect to have to cut some metal. See installation instructions.

Finish: 9
Once installed, the finish is very impressive. Even the connections come with insulated boots which saves the time of installing your own. The only thing that detracts from these speakers is the external crossover, which just does not look good, no matter where you mount it.

Performance: 10
These speakers perform well at all frequencies. While it was not their intended purpose, they do add a great deal of bass to the sound system. While in other aspects the crossover is a burden, when it comes to performance it does its job very well, as the speakers sound very natural.

Note: I will publish any issues as they arise.
