The IPD mesh grille is a good product and with some minor improvements could be a great product. The construction of the grille is high quality work. If not for the mounting hardware and the single anchor point for the 850 latch, the IPD grille would have received a much higher rating.

Fit: 10
The fit on the grille itself is excellent. The average person should be able to install the grille in under 30 minutes with only a screwdriver. The latch that is needed for the 850s, however can be a bit tricky. Click here for installation instructions.

Finish: 7
The construction of the grille is impressive. All the welds between the mesh and the grille frame are complete and nicely finished. A heavy coat of paint covers the whole grille and frame, but it does not manage to cover some slight imperfections. With close inspection, you can make out small burs on the grill frame that were not removed before painting but this is minor. The provided grill retaining bolts are stainless however the washers are not. For this reason, it is recommended that you purchase stainless washers from a local store. Otherwise, rust will soon mar the finish of your new grille. The cost for all four corners should be under one dollar. If you have an 850 you also need the modified hood latch. The metal latch is prone to oxidation and with only a single anchor point to the new latch, it is not as robust an attachment as the original plastic latch. It is advisable to seek solutions for this, such as heat shrink tubing or some other form of insulation.
