Do you need to save over 100 pounds or need seats that offer more support? You could have both.

Sparco Roadster from Hard
Racing
Rating scale is from 1 to 10. Low being 1 high being 10
Rating: 8.5
Something as simple as a seat can change
the whole look of your car. Also worth mentioning is the rear passenger room
that can be gained with these seats. The most impressive thing though is their
comfort level. While they are stiff, they are more comfortable from a support
stand point. The support is even more noticeable if you have an athletic build.
Fit:
N/A
There is an adapter made to install
the driver side seat. However, there is no passenger side adapter. For this
reason I opted to construct my own brackets. The seats fit in the car exceedingly
well with no clearance problems. I can not comment on the prefabricated driver
bracket, but if you opt to construct your own from a universal kit, allow
yourself plenty of time. The only special tool you will need is a drill press.
Finish: 8
The overall finish once installed
is great, but there are a few underlying flaws. Most notably the molded in
mounting brackets. The spacing in correct but they did not re-tap the holes
after the final layer of gel coat. This forces you to tap the holes yourself.
If you do not, the bolts will not go in correctly. While not being a major
issue, I would expect a little better quality control from someone like Sparco.
Everything else was in order. When you order these seats, they show up at
your door in a huge box, that is amazingly well packed.
Performance: 9
The side bolster are lower than most
racing seats for ease of entry. Despite this, the seats offer excellent support.
Coupled with harnesses, there is no longer a need to use your foot to brace
entering corners. The seats do however have less rigidity than some other
seats I have seen. The rigidity problem could easily be corrected with a seat
back brace.
Note: I will publish any issues as they arise.
