Yokohama ES 100s

A great plus zero tire option.

Rating scale is from 1 to 10. Low being 1 high being 10

Rating: 7
This is an incredible budget performance tire. It handles, corners, and brakes well, all while making very little noise. If your budget is $130 or less for a performance tire that must last at least 20,000 miles, I would recommend this tire. If you want all out performance, look elsewhere.

Fit: 7
To fit these tires on an 850, you need to do one of two things. One option is a rack limiter to prevent rubbing at full turn. The other option is widen the track 20mm via a big brake kit or wheel spacers. If you do not, you may experience light scuffing at full lock. S70s will have no problem with this tire in 215/40/17. These tires also have a lower load rating than OEM. For this reason I would not recommend them to anyone with a station wagon, or anyone who freguently drives at full load capacity.

Overall: 7
In the world of performance tires, these seem to be right about in the middle. They have good traction and braking characteristics, but are not the stickiest tire made. They also have a little bit of excessive roll in hard corners.

Wet: 7
These tires do very well for a performance oriented tire on wet roads. They still make a little noise, but are much more quiet than a P-Zero. While these are not meant to replace something like an Aquatread, they do make for an acceptable rain/performance tire.

Note: I will publish the life span of the tires at the time they are replaced.
