With the current popularity of ruggedized compact video cameras, there are primarily two big names in the market. GoPro with the Hero3, and Contour with their top of the line Contour+2. Both systems have their merits and draw backs, so we are not going to turn this into a Coke or Pepsi / Nikon or Canon type debate. At first glance, you will notice a few things about the Contour camera. Most noticeably, it is metal and has a much lower center of gravity than the GoPro. Spec wise the cameras are pretty much on par with two exceptions. The GoPro Hero3 Black Edition will do a higher frame rate at 720p (120fps) and 1080p (60fps). This feature can be nice when trying to do a lot of slow motion effects, or if you are shooting extremely high-speed sports. On the other side of the table, the Contour+2 is GPS enabled. This allows you to embed telemetry and maps not only with the included software, but also with 3rd party software such as Trackvision.

Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, California. (March 11, 2012) – The USTCC (United States Touring Car Championship) had its inaugural round of the 2012 championship at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California this weekend. K-PAX Racing was represented by Robert Thorne driving the #80 K-PAX Racing C30 GT-R for the very first time. Friday was spent primarily getting accustomed to the new car as well as working on set-up in order to optimize the car to the standardized series tire.

“We came here this weekend with the car setup according to how we had run it in the World Challenge series last year, but we quickly learned that the tires used in the USTCC required a very different setup in order to create a well-balanced car”, commented Team Manager, Bob Raub.

Qualifying results on Saturday showed that the team and driver Robert Thorne quickly had come to terms with the new cars setup, clinching pole position in the 20-minute session.

The 2-hour endurance race on Sunday provided a great deal of challenging conditions throughout the race, including several full-course yellows, rain showers, plenty of traffic and, due to the length of the race, pit stops for fuel.

Does your Volvo's XC90 tailgate feel way heavier than it should? Will it no longer stay open on its own. If so chances are that one of the gas struts has failed. You can replace these in pairs but it is usually just one that fails. Why pay the dealer hundreds of dollars for a 10 minute job you can do yourself for under 30 dollars. You can purchase these for under 30 dollars to your door from here: XC90 Tailgate Struts. Before you start make sure to support the tailgate. A better solution is to have a helper as the tailgate of the XC90 is very heavy. Whatever method you use, be sure to use caution and common sense. This is supposed to cost you 30 dollars not an arm or a leg.

Turbo rebuilds are fairly simple, it is just time consuming and requires your undivided attention. Keep in mind this process will work on 13G, 15G, 16T, 18T, and 19T turbos in the TD04 and TD05 Series. But Different part numbers would be used for the 16T, 18T, and 19T because they are a supper back. Depending on the shop you get it balanced at you can have this repair done in 2-3 hours for the experienced mechanic and, 4-5 hours for the novice mechanic. Keep in mind the turbo shop will need 10-60 minutes of this time for the balancing.
