Hey man can you post the EXACT name of the paint you used. I am trying to do the exact same thing as you. You did a kickass job man. I tried using dupli-color paint especially made for wheels and it went on all flaky. What was your painting process. Did you sand the wheels? Did you use primer? Did you use clear coat?

since my car is red with black trim I think the black will look nice. Should I use the Satin or Flat black. I am going to keep
the spoiler for now and see how it looks afterwards. May also paint it black. Which to choose satin or flat? cool.gif

Dude i used High Temperature CollorGin ... you probably will not find that paint on USA because i think is an brazilian brand... but any high temperature flat black should do it ...
The painting process was pretty easy ... i just washed the wheels ... i didn't even sand it ... i just painted over the original paint .... but to looks better you can sand it ... no primer os clear coat used .... it might looks better if you sand it and use primer ... but i was just too lazy to do that .... i messed up one of the four wheels.... the one that i painted dark gray ... i tryed to paint the flat black over that paint ... "the paint was dry but i think not enough it was still a little fresh" and the paint reacted ... so i had to sand that one wheel ... but that was the only problem ....
You can find painting structions on the spray cans lol ... its just typical painting ....
and thanks ... i'm glad that you liked ! i wish i was still living in indiana ... so i could help all you guys up ...

Nez it looks good now, BUT

Guys remember, you must prep the wheel buy light sanding or use SCOTCH BRITE (scuff your wheel)

you need to take the shine off the clear coat if you ever want it to stick.

dont think you can just shoot them again, after they start peeling

you get they things called MAP lines.....

I am redoing the entire exterior of my V70. I am going to do my Perfo's today! Were bright silver but half the paint is worn off. Also repaint whole car...going to try that Titanium Dupli-color with my Pewter paint. Can't look worse than the sandblasted look they are currently wearing. But not bad for 275,000+ miles...

You can get a few different high-heat paints in the US. Home depot sells some, but the finish is really easy to scratch. Paint you get what you pay for, try looking into some color engine enamel.

...and I bought it brand new...

oops, its graphite color not titanium...She runs great but its sitting in my shop on jack-stands with the wheels off and waiting on a paint job which it really doesn't need. Got a new tail fin delivered today and some new lights coming, tint job, euro side marker lights...she will be ready for the next ten years and aiming for the million miler club. Till I paint her, I'm driving my 92 pathy w/ 312,000 miles which I also purchased new, 80 to 100 miles a day!

Your wheels do look great!

Got my Perfo's painted yesterday...I like the Graphite color wheels with the Pewter paint. They look way better than the old original finish on the wheels.

My process was: Deflate, wash, pressure wash, degrease/dewax, laquer thinner, scuff with grey scotch brite, wash, degrease/dewax, tape, prime 3 coats, color 3 coats, clear 3 coats. All painting was done in accordance with can instructions for flash and recoat times. There are two places where I got the finish too wet but it will be fairly easy to polish that out I think. I could alternatively install that wheel on the passenger side of the car and never see it again...

Used Duplicolor primer sealer, and Duplicolor wheel color and clear. I may add another coat or two of clear when I paint the car.

I'll try to get pics of the wheels soon but the car is still waiting to be painted...
