As far as I know, no one in my family has ever owned a Volvo -- I was the first one to get into Volvos, no family influence what-so-ever.

Dads cars - '63 Corvette stingray split window, don't know the year Plymouth RoadRunner, a '72 red Volvo 1800ES, an 88 white Volvo 760 Turbo sedan, an '03 XC90 T6 AWD, and now an '07 V70R.

Moms cars - '71 Volvo 164 - wrecked by drunk driver, a white '73 164E, a red '86 760 Turbo Wagon, a '97 blue 960, a bronze '04 S40 T4.

I voted Volvo, since american muscle came WAY before I was born.

Not really anything performance wise. My family had a bunch of crap minivans and Jeeps. My dad had a couple Firebirds back in the day before I was born. Also had a motorcycle in the 80's to save on gas. He picked up a brand new BMW 330i in 06 and traded it in this month for a 328xi. He always wanted a BMW but it was not very budget or family friendly since all three of the kids played sports.

He is now completely against me modifying my car, he has since lightened up on getting the bike. Although he does like the look of the R currently minus the black wheels.

My dad started with an International Scout, then had a Mercury Cougar, then a 78' mustang with a lot of motor work, but he got rid of it before I was born. He sold it and got a 78' Bronco with a 351 Windsor that took me home from the hospital. Maybe that's where my love for them came from and why my next toy will be a 78 Bronco. Passing everything but the gas station FTW. It would have been my first car, but the North East had it's way with it and the bottom was pretty much rotted out, and he didn't think about restoration until few years later. It got replaced by a 96 F150, then totalled and replaced by a 2006 F150, and a 2007 Harley.

Mom had an Impala before I was born, then a Caprice, then two Taurus's

I was actually the first and only person in my entire family to buy a Volvo.

2003 350z...
Looking for another 850 Turbo. Preferably a 1995 Red wagon or sedan with charcoal interior. Any help appreciated

My dad has had some 30 cars over the years...everything from mustang, bel air, galaxie, nova, etc. I would have to say my favorites were the 87 Sunbird GT Turbo which was my first taste of boost. The sad thing was this car was less reliable than a Mitsu. My other was the 93 Taurus SHO. It didn't matter what my brother and I did to that motor it seemed bulletproof.

Mom and dad always had some decent cars. Dad picked up a volvo when he became "dad" though. Then my mom got an 88 740 wagon with an m46. Black leather, blue pearl paint. My god I miss that thing. Mom blew the motor, dad built the motor and got mom a minivan. Dad put an exhaust on the 740, extra boost (out the wazoo) and did some suspension goodies. He was in the game a longgggggg time ago biggrin.gif He sold his wagon to somebody on the boards actually (brickboard I think).

Luminas ? The first car I remember my pappy owning was a 1959 544, red. I'm a Volvo legacy don't you know. He now has a '70 datsun 240Z, it flies and body is redone. His pet is the light metallic blue 1977 Avanti, totally ground up restore. Awesome car, kind of a Frankenstein monster, that screams. Corvette chassis, Studebaker, AM General, Ford master cylinder, I think this is true. Quite the interior, looks like an aircraft inside with the slider controls and red dash lights.

My parents bought there first Volvo a week before I was born, an 85 245 GLT. Before this they always had Monte Carlos, and Cutlass's. had the 245 until 1990 when they bought a 90 Caprice wagon., For a short time my dad had a 84 740(784 muahhah) with a 5.0 ford. Also, from 1988-1997 my brother worked as a volvo tech, and always had a volvo demo and was given a 95 T-5R as a demo (no one around here wanted a yellow ha ha, but, thats when it became my dream for one) whatever happened to that car i will never know. But, at this time my parents also started buying Toyota's until 2001 when my dad decided to buy a 1998 C70 T-5M which was the year i started driving...and i totally fell in love with the car, until for some reason he just out of nowhere traded it for a subaru (which atleast hes now kicking himself for after driving my cars). My mother also wants to get rid of her shit Hyundai santa fe for another 245, and my dad is probably gonna take my S70 when his Subaru dies, which is forthcoming..as it is a rot box at 4 years old, and knocks more then any boxter ever, and the warranty is now up.

First in the Fam to drive a Volvo. Have to admit, I was seduced by the C70's sexiness, then I stopped and almost shit myself when I found out it was a Volvo.

Test drove it and bought it on the spot!

in 93 when i was 8 my family moved to spain and we bought a 1986 manual BMW 535. This was the car that started it all for me. I havent stopped thinking about cars and going fast since the day we bought it. That car was the last non volvo they ever bought though, so I checked volvos as the cars my parents drove.

car history if you wanna read it:

dad's parents got him a brand new late 60's malibu as his first car, after that he only bought VW's and a retired army willys jeep untill around the time i was born. at that time my parents were into japanese economy cars and owned a few hondas and toyotas. Then they bought the bimmer listed above and after that nothing but volvos, and they are still driving volvos. They have never been into performance in cars, and think it is a total waste of time and money to modify them. However, my mom can appreciate a nice car, she says she still misses her 535.
