For some time already I wasn't very involved with this car anymore. I drove the car every now and then which still was great fun but most time went in to the other two cars.
Then came the annual inspection. Car didn't pass because of two cracked rear axle bushings. All was fixed, car passed on second attempt and was parked on my driveway again.
My good friend Emiel picked up the car after that and he and two off his friend spend a weekend polishing the SD2, results were amazing btw.
While all this was happening another friend, fellow Volvo driver and a neighbor within half a mile, driving a very fast 315 whp Volvo 850 came by and told me he needed a new challenge.. And he asked if SD-2 was for sale in any given shape.. Another option, maybe, was an S60. Car needed to be ME 7 because he wanted to expand his motronic tuning experience, he did all of the Volvo 850 / M4.3 tuning himself.
His 850 was up for sale and he mentioned the budget he wanted to work with but this wasn't within what I had in mind for the SD-2 with the expensive build engine and GT2871 fitted.
I did help him to search for a nice S70 or S60 T5 but ME 7 manual S70T5 are hard to find and expensive, almost the same price level as early S60 T5.
Then I discovered a nice car.... It was fairly priced, T5 manual and like SD-1 and SD-2 it was a former Police car.. Immediately I thought about this car being a nice SD successor..
Also engine's and gearboxes can be swapped without to much effort so I made an offer to my friend to swap the engine's and sell SD-2 with the newer but stock engine fitted and many parts missing to which he agreed. Basically SD-2 has been sold with the engine, gearbox, Porsche front brakes, 18" Rial rims with 225/35-18 Vred's and the dashboard but all other is missing. No interior, no suspension, no exhaust system. The old interior comes with the car unfitted.
Last Friday, October 30th, SD-2 was sold but still in my garage awaiting the new engine, build engine is out already.
Yesterday, November 1st, the successor was registered to my name.

MY2003 S60 T5 MT, ~104K miles.
The short term plans for this car,
The SD-2 engine and gearbox incl. LSD will be fitted. GT2871 will go back on. 18" Graphite Pegs currently mounted on the SD-2 will go on, tires will remain 225/40-18 for now.
A 2004 V70R front bumper has been sourced, needs small repair and paint. All parts for mounting the bumper plus a new grill are in house already.
A 3" Simons catback will be fitted, leftover from my former 2001 S60T5. Same goes for springs. Front will receive H&R springs, rear "Chiel Bos" springs. I also still had these springs available. They will be fitted mostly for stance. What I really want is to mount an Öhlins "S60 Challenge" race suspension if I can ever find one.
