Ok the real question is what do you do for work since i Know none of this stuff is cheap here let alone where you live. ?
Does it really matter? I don't think so. It has nothing to do with cars anyway.
The current crisis has learned that nothing in life is sure but at the moment I can afford the things I like to do so while I can I do.
I have been involved with the Volvo's for 12 years now. Started with the tuning stuff about 9 years ago. During this time I have bought and also sold many parts and a couple of cars. A lot of acquired parts were transferred from one car to another or sold. Also nearly all the work on the cars I do myself. Eventually the total being poured in isn't as much as the outside sometimes suggests.
I think I mentioned this before, the SD cars themselves came cheap. SD5 is by far the most expensive car I have ever bought and it was €10K. SD2 payed half of that price.

Tranny engine combo here runs $3k ish
Tranny, complete engine including loom, turbo, alternator and starter motor asking price was €2500. I also traded an AWD rear axle which I bought from the same company about a year ago for €400,-. Since I changed my plans and had no use for it anymore they agreed to take it back for the same money so I had to pay 2100 which helped the bleeding... Added an 820 Euro Quaife LSD right away because the tranny was outside the car. It simply saves time and money later on because I want an LSD anyway.
This week I got a complete intake system, the shifter and shifter cables from the same company and these parts were for free because "They belong with the engine". A very nice gesture. Sold some parts which came out which gives some return. And this is how it often goes.
Pimping the car will bring it's total value to ~16K. With the crisis the used car prices have come down but normally the current value of the car wouldn't have been that much above a 2003 S60T5 street value. Given that I will drive this car for a couple of year and, if the crisis ever passes, hopefully sell it for a reasonable price the total cost of this car isn't that bad.
The thing which never sells is the countless hours put in but that's part of the hobby I guess.
Main reason I am curious since I either need a new job / job or need to find better people to buy my parts from lol
Been parting , fixing and do what ever to volvos for 12+ years so .....
just curious since I am so envious
