As the topic says how do you run a straight mid-pipe insted of a cat without throwing annoting CEL and getting dreaded boost cut?

I have heard about putting some space in the rear 02 so it doesnt get as clear a reading thus not being able to tell there is no cat.Anyone do this and have it work?

Any other ways ?

I heard you can use some washers to put pace on how far the 02 screws in so it doesnt get an accurate reading.

I run a straight pipe on my car with no CEL for Cat, other people have to run a spacer available from any auto parts store, it's called a spark plug spacer.
Sorry to all the people who are still trying to get their money back.

Just get the spacer - washers won't move it far enough out of the exhaust stream - there's not that much thread on a O2..

I've "passed" NYS emissions, since there's no CEL (Only good for '96 -, in NY -95 are dyno'd - no cat =fail).

Just picked up the "spark plug non foulers", not spark plug spacers. Advanced auto parts has them, they are 4$ for two of them (in the "Help" section). You need to drill one out with a 1/2" bit, I am trying to do it with just one that is drilled out half way. I will post up after I get it in and see if it works. From the sounds of it, it does work.

You can see how deep the 02 spacer is in this pic...

..if it's not deep to move the sensor sufficiently out of the exhaust flow, it won't register a difference in 02 content, and the CEL will come back on...
