In commemoration of last night's victory, KFC will be giving away free 6 piece meals in honor of Obama.
Then free hookers and blow.

I think this race came down to more who did you want for VP...

Since both of them will probably die in office.

So... Palin or Biden. Kind of a no brainier.

I know, but that doesn't mean that I don't want him to drill domestically. I think that in the next couple of years (if not already), most of the nation will come to realize how crucial domestic drilling is.

Second duty is halt military spending, bring back some of our troops, and start paying back our loans.

What are you, nuts? Halt spending? Yeah, lets put a couple 100k more folks out of work.

Defense is the only thing Washington should be concerned about. How about controlling earmarks for useless shit like bridges to no where and research on ketchup viscosity.

I want my guys to have the best weapons systems in the world. Thats what will keep them safe. How about taking soldiers home from Europe and S.Korea?

Ah, new conflict started, I feel alive again!

And, frankly I can't believe the amount of ignorant comments I've seen on this site about this election. You all drive Volvos, common now, you're supposed to be intellectuals. In the past I've voted either way, democratic, republican, but what I can't stand is people believing all of the BS they've been fed these last few months.

It seems that the republican party is in a very difficult spot right now. What happened to the intellectual republican? Upholding real American values, those practiced by the founding fathers, constitution etc.? It seems that now the republican party caters to the Bible belt. And what have we learned from history that mixing church and state has taught us?

Right now, I'm proud to be an American. I haven't said that in a long time. We should be very proud of ourselves - we made an incredible statement to the world with this election. In a way, I think we've 'redeemed' ourselves in the eyes of many other nations.

The young people have spoken, and I think we chose a damn fine president last night.
Now I have to go to class,

cheers,

The American Values have change since the founding fathers and constitution... now it is the right to choose to have an abortion or not and the right to marry another person of the same sex or doing drugs is not that bad as long as I am careful about it.... I still live by the fact that the bible is the bases for my moral beliefs and judgment.

The young people of America are bitchy, do what I feel not what I think kids. It is a shame, you can not go around FEELing your way through life. If everyone acted on their feelings without using their heads we would be fucked!

I said this once and I will say this again, people voted for Obama because they dislike Bush, they voted for Obama because they want EVERYTHING to be fair... nothing is going to be fair for everyone.

His name was Ron Paul and the republican party was too chicken-shit to nominate him. He would have fared the best chance against Obama and would have made the debate a true intellectual experience. Fuck..they got what they want..

Ron Paul is slightly more sane Ross Pero. Walking past a Ron Paul rally is enough reason not to vote for him; what's the old adage? Birds of a feather flock together?

Huckabee was the answer for me.

The WW3 thread was a prediction on challenges the Obama administration will face and the end result of those challenges based on his advisory staff.

He would have been an excellent choice.

I'm glad this campaign is over. I'm glad the Senate is not filibuster proof (fell shy of 60 dems), there are checks and balances in place. Obama will only be able to do so much before the Senate stops anything odd.

That's a good idea. Pick a PRESIDENT with 0 experience, because the more qualified candidate picked a VP with less experience. For me the choice was made on issues and not because of who he picked. I would rather a VP get OTJ training than the leader of the free fucking world. Granted if McCain had kicked the bucket, Palin would have been in, but Obama is in no matter what now.

That's the problem. The young people who have very little clue about the real world elected the president. That and all of the black people who came out to vote for a black candidate. Call me racist. But all I heard last night was people being interviewed who were more concerned about voting for a black man because of the color of his skin and not his stance on the issues, which flip flop like crazy. I keep hearing that it was a priviledge and the Civil Rights fight, blah, blah, blah. I am by no means diminishing the dispicable acts that occurred in the 60's. But all have had the right to vote since 1965. Where have they been for the past 43 years. Didn't want to vote because it was white people running. But I am called racist for thinking this. Whatever. I am so over it.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am the furthest thing from a racist there is, but I am sick and tired of the race card being played when it is convenient for you. I have no problem voting for a black man. I would have loved to vote for Colin Powell. I just didn't want to vote for this black man.

+1 with a caveat:

The country's probably not going to fall apart, it's not the end of days... laugh.gif But I'm disappointed in the American people. They think that it's all over now and forget that this place is a Republic, not a Democracy. It's not all over... you have to continually participate to make it work. Write to representatives, keep in touch with government from the lowest levels and on up, etc. When the people are silent by and large, the only voices in Washington become the lobbyists.

What happened to "the content of his character not the color of his skin "? MLK says we fail.

History has been made. We elected the first Hawaiian to be Prez. And he's as white as he is black.

It's the nuts in Congress and Senate that scare me not Obama. Until he appoints the loons to courts.

I say again: Al Franken? WTF! Minnesota should secede to Canadia
