half way through the swap, putting in the new pedals, it all looks to fit and the bracket slides over the studs but there is no hole or threads for the top bracket. is this normal? do i just need to drill a hole and use a bolt and nut and washers? other than that, thats the only problem ive ran into =]

You don't need to replace the bracket - just remove the top pivot bolt & swap out brake pedal/install the clutch pedal...

one other quetion, im not replacing the clutch at the moment since it is in good condition and i need to get this thing going quick, so i dont have a alignment tool, i cant find one ANYWHERE just got back from ipd and had a long discussion and they couldnt find one either, any sugestions? i know there is no pilot bearing but is there a bushing for the flywheel? the center of the flywheel is bigger than the splines on the clutch disc so i dont see how a tool would fit in and align it.

I just did my manual swap less than a month ago, with no alignment tool. I put everything together and got the p.p. bolts "finger tight. Then I rotated the flywheel and adjusted the disc so it had equal reveal between the edge of the disc and the edge of the flywheel. Once it was uniform distance all the way around I torqued down the pp bolts. Kinda of hack mechanice, but it works.

The input shaft does not sit in the crank on FWD/AWD Volvos, so no alignment tool is needed - just eyeball the clutch as previous poster described.

Be careful when you're putting those pedals in. I twisted my shoulder a couple of times.

got all the shifter setup and pedals installed tonight, all thats left is to put the tranny in and do the wiring. I have read the wiring thread on tbricks but i am a bit confused. could someone tell me in a nut shell what i need to do with this wiring, i know i have the crank position sensor or maybe flywheel position sensor ( not sure which one) that i might need to reverse the wires on for the car to start but i think that is only if i used a dual mass and i used a single mass, should i be fine? And also tricking the neutral saftey switch for the car to start, which wires and do i just connect them? any other wiring? what can i just rip out of the bay? thanks alot guys im sooo close to being done.

You can strip out everything back to the ECU box - if you so desire, but there's no actual need to do so.

I itemized the wiring in my garage M66 conversion link, if you haven't bookmarked one of the main conversion threads.

Didn't have to deal w/ crank sensor, so can't help on that.

I need to know this too. When we splice the green and green/red wire do we connect them to each other? Is one wire already going to the starter?

That's what I mean by splicing - cutting them out of the trans plug, and connecting them together smile.gif

You can see in my second photo where the green connects to the starter.

YEah the green/green red go together otherwise your car will not start. Then take the 2 larger gauge blue wires (blue/blue gray) and splice them to your reverse light switch pigtail. Done.

part of the trans connector. I'm pretty sure I gave the exact pin #'s, since there's more than one blue wire...
