I have to comment and say the same things that Juan and John are saying. Aaron is the most trust worthy guy, he always does more than he says, it's always done right, and it's always done in the time frame discussed. Aaron has went above and beyond with my car and given me far more than I ever asked for. I'm doing my project with him from over 5 hours away and have been doing it all by e-mail and phone over several months and I have never once had even a thought that it wasn't being done properly or that he wasn't telling me the right deal on things. Def. props to Aaron and I highly recommend him to anyone on he board. I really hope it doesn't sound like I am giving Aaron too much praise, when the entire build of my car is posted you will see what I'm talking about.
Also props to Volvo Saab auto salvage, I bought a lot of my swap parts through them as well as parts for many of the Volvos I've bought and sold. Another great vendor that I highly recommend.

and he wasn't very nice to it
Yea we're sufficiently amazed by all of it too, even tho it's pretty much what we were estimating due just how stupid strong the car has been pulling and roasting my tires.
LOL it's why I'm RaceLabFabrication's "Lead Product Tester", I break the most shit and need Aaron to find me cheap fixes that work

I don't see why it wouldn't, the install would go pretty much the same way. There's no different motor wise in the swap, it's just the 4.3, but that shouldn't really be in the way. I'd suggest having a tune to support the swap and AFAIK right now the ST 17 PSI tune is what is guaranteed to make it work.

yes same exact thing, I doubt you would need a tune, but it does help.
It looks like the VE of the solid lifter head is a good bit better so the speedtuning tune (allready a little rich) matched perfectly in jon's car.

great info. I know what I'm putting in if I ever bend a rod. 850 with 00R engine and 5 speed manual would= : )

we had a little talk of the 5 speed v 6 speed on this transplant.
My thoughts are you would lose almost as much as you would gain performance wise,
as the shorter gearing in the 6 would only translate to more wheel spin at lower mph.
I think you would gain some at the 60 to 120 range. and the rpm of the 6 speed while cruising is really nice!
I think with the right setup even the m56l gearing would be advantageous...

six speeds are for narrow power bands. with all that torque one would think taller ratios would be the way to go.

The difference in bore wouldn't be an issue? I was under the impression that the 2.4L in the '00 R was an 83mm bore...

I dunno. With the rpm limit raised to 7600 - I can get to 98mph in 3rd, and it's still pulling
