Nice work but where were you 2 months ago when I started my transplant...feeling impotent with a lowly 2.3 swap tongue.gif
1998 V70 T-5 -Auto / Pewter - Turbo-Tuner,18T, HD TCVw/ Hallman Pro MBC, custom 3" DP w/ Volvo 2.75" sport catback - both wrapped and coated, RIP, IPD aluminum intercooler, intake w/ K&N cone, R ex. manifold, , gasket matched & polished intake manifold w/ thermoblock spacer, n/a TB w/ 960 plate, Optima bluetop, MSD 6aD and blaster coil, IPD plug wires, IPD poly bushing, Koni FSD w/ Eibach springs, IPD sways 25mm x 25 mm, blue silicone vac, silicone coolant lines, custom intake tubes grill to turbo, skid plate, front lower brace, cherry turbo strut brace, HD endlinks, 302mm brakes, Zeitronix wide-band/data-logger, Walbro w/variable fpr. okay i see that htown was quite successful in doing and completing this swap. My question is this, say i were to get my hands on the 2.5l b5254t2 from a 07 s60. would i also be able to complete this swap?

Yes, you would delete all the newer style accessories i.e. ETM, VVT, coil packs and the intake manifold. And replace it with all existing TB, 2.3 manifold (port matched to the 2.5 block while you're at it since the newer blocks have larger intake ports) drill the cam shaft to mount the distributor cap and rotor and go on with life.

thanks man, i really appreciate the response. if i must ask, do you have any pictures as far as the drilling of the camshaft for the cap and rotor? also would i even be able to pass echeck after the swap?

lol i couldn't pass emissions before the swap...i passed after ;)

Take a look at a pre 99 cam shaft for the rotor, you just match the notch.

sounds like an awesome project. If I decide to keep my car, I may end up going this route with maybe a 20G or garrett swapped out.

Wonder what Aaron would charge for a prepped late model R engine with the necessary pre 99 components installed so it's as drop in replacement as it gets?
