Man, you guys are pussies. What's the point of having fast car if ur just gonna drive it slow?

first you learn to drive, then you drive fast. Go to the track with a 600hp car, and I guarantee you a skilled driver in a diesel pushing 90hp will beat you.

As for tunes, my speedtuning (which is the cheapest out there, I got mine at some sort of discount sale) Is good, my gas mileage is BETTER <- again depends on your right foot, and lots of fun accelerating.

If you ever do reach top spead on a public highway, with all the potholes, imperfect roads, and changes from concrete to ashphalt, you're guaranteed to kill yourself.

I was your age, going 240km/h on the toll highway, with bad tires, bad suspension, and though it feels fun, once you don't react to something in time (1/10s of a second) your car is spinning and in a ditch.

Don't ask me how I know.

Listen to experience. Track your car, learn how to drive, then do 160mph on a straightaway on a nice long striped track.

Didn't someone say that the S80 had an electric e-brake, that if you jerked it up at any speed over 100kmh it over rode all the closed loop systems?
Closed loop means you override the computer limitations right? I wonder if its some sort of factory test function to drive the car unlimited at the test track and for dealers?

Yea, you're right, but I still want to be able to at least confidently say that I can go 160, ya know? I want to have that option open.
 love the reactions!

Remove the limiter and post a nice how-to about it.
Go to the TRACK and ride 160+ all day long, renting the whole thing for yourself.
Before that it's all pointless.
You sound like a teen.
Grown up people go to the TRACK and have bunch of fun in a safe (for others) manner.

How do you know your old busted S70 or 850 couldn't reach that speed going downhill towards a mgnet factory!!!! ;)

Hmm, I've heard that it wears down the engine a lot faster and decreases gas mileage. And my mpg is already really low. Are there any you'd recommend though?

depends on the chip, most drive alot better with a good chip. Better milage too, but offcourse it takes more fuel to make 250 hp than 200 hp. What model do you have?

DoC
855 T5 2.3 manual, 18T, 391cc injectors, mapped to 1.15, 3" dp and exhaust, Bilstein/HR aprox 35mm, S70r brakes with Brembo gold discs and ferodo 3000 pads, Mintex pads rear (squeal), Glt cams more but i just cant remember right now. Btw i live in sweden. New engine and tranny going in, just waiting for the clutch.

REMEMBER AN GASOLINE ENGINE DOES NOT PRODUCE CO2, THAT COMES AFTER THE CATALYST. BE ENVIROMENTAL FRIENDLY, DITCH THE CAT.

I made this thread because I didn't know how to remove the limiter. Now that it's been explained, there's no need for me to post a how-to about it.
Meh, more of a rally guy than a track guy.
