How is the cutoff on these? I thought those are for halogens, might be wrong though. Can you take a pic please.

They are halogen designed projectors, but people stick HID's in stock headlights without major issues so it's not like it really matters. But you end up with a very distinct _/_/ light pattern as opposed to the flat cut off you see on TSX projectors. However you could always do this mod http://volvospeed.co...1 for that style cut off. However I personally like being able to illuminate road signs as my night vision isn't what it used to be.

Sorry to hear about your mishap, Jon. Sucks to hear, but good to know you didn't mess up your new headlamps.
I do have a question though. Did you ever notice your low beams come on with the turn signal flash when locking your car after you plugged in that harness to your turn signals? I have this problem. I want the light strip to be on, but every time I do this, the low beam HID's come on briefly and has already burnt up one ballast. It's now unplugged. The only thing I can think of, is the fact that I have my sidemarkers wired so that they are on when the parking lights are on, and not just when I'm using the turn signals. I will admit I haven't unplugged my sidemarkers yet to test that theory.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Dave, what did you wire the sidemarkers to, to have them stay on with the parking light? I haven't had that particular issue with my lights and it's pretty odd seeing that the separate parking DRL harness runs off the turn signal. If you wired the sidemarkers to the parking light signal wire on the turn signals I don't see how that will effect the low beams.

I used the IPD instructions on how to wire them up as marker lights, as well as turn signals:
I had no explanation for the low beams receiving power either. A friend suggested that maybe a ground loop occurred, but I don't see that either.
Quote
For Turn Signals Only
Connect one of the white wires from the harness to the green wire and the other white harness wire to
the black wire on driver side turn signal assembly. On the passenger side, connect one harness wire to
the blue/green wire and the other to the black wire. It doesn't matter how you hook up the wires, as the
lamp is not polarity sensitive.
For Marker Lights as well as Turn Signals
Use the white wires to the light instead of the black wires as described above.

ebay, "auto lamps plus". 400 bucks shipped. Thats where I bought mine.
hey i just bought a set of projector ABM's from "auto lamps plus" for my 1998 volvo s70. the lights are fantastic but i ran into a small problem. I have HID's (6000k 35w ballasts) for my car that i wanted to install with the projectors but when i received the headlights, there was a sticker on them that said:
"ATTENTION!!!
1. Not ALLOWED: HID, bulb with coating,
high watt bulb (75w or 100w)
2. Voltage for position ring: 12V"
Now, I emailed the company and they said that i could not put HID's with these projectors. is there any way around this? Is there anything i can do?

Many people here, including myself, use the ABM projectors with HIDs and have no problems.
However, they are halogen projectors and are not setup as HID projectors. That being said, Auto Lamps Plus disclaimer is more for their protection so that if you have a problem using HIDs or burn up wiring using high wattage bulbs, you can't come to them to warranty the projectors.

I modified the cutoff.
I used this thread:
http://volvospeed.co...age__hl__cutoff
I used the same method, has worked for me for 6 months no problems so far. 35 watt bulbs will be fine in the housing. Do it, you will love it, it is a PITA but it is worth it imo.
35 watt is the same as the stock bulbs btw.

P.S. in the factory label warning, it also said "2. Voltage for position ring: 12V" that was not allowed. isnt the voltage of the car 12V? i didnt understand what that part meant. can anyone clarify?
