So I finally will have time to pull my tired old 15G out of my 1996 854 Turbo w/stage 1 tune in about a month, and I am definitely looking to upgrade. What I would like to do is get a 16T (or maybe an 18T if the right one comes along) with an angled flange, and attach that to an R manifold and use the stock angled downpipe and cat from a newer car to bolt up to the rest of my stock exhaust. I really can't install a loud aftermarket exhaust right now. A cutout may find its way into the new downpipe but I'm still on the fence about that. I've breifly looked into having a downpipe made with the correct flanges, but that seemed pricy, and I'm a poor college student haha.
Basically, my question is, will this work? Can I take the stock angled flange downpipe from another car and bolt that up to the rest of my stock exhaust? I have never seen the exhaust from a 99+ so I don't know if it will match up. From the pictures I have seen they look similar but I don't know if it is exact.
If this will work and you happen to have any of these parts laying around let me know, I am looking to start buying soon. Thanks for the help!
Mike

its worth the $ to find someone on here that has a 3" DP for sale , oem DP will be too restrictive if you're looking to really get the power out of a bigger turbo
2003 Volvo S60 2.4T - custom intake , catless straightpipe exhaust , everything behind the front seats gutted , more mods to come
-planned final build- changed , will repost soon

I certainly agree with you, but I'm not after every ounce of power right this second, just a decent improvement from what I have now. I really can't commit to a full exhaust right now, so a 3" DP would be wasted if I just dump it back into the stock 2.25" piping and muffler. The DP itself really wouldn't be too expensive, but I would need a cat and a catback to fit the new DP too. I am hoping the upgrade to the angled flange will help a little though.
