I would have liked to have seen what you did to move the selector to the outside - it's not visible in your second pic. Did you just buy an S60 bracket & swap it over?

Yes, that is what I have done. Wenn you drive out the pin from the gear selector, you can slip it of the axle and fit on the new one.
As i have bolted on the case from the air filter, it would take some work to be able to make a picture from it. But it looks the same as your lever.

If you don't mind me asking, why didn't you use the 01- C70 cables?

Because they won't fit the '00 shift housing, and the '01- shift housing doesn't fit -'00 cars...

.. what you can't see in the above pic is that the cable offset is very different, along with the ballstud OD for the main cable, and the offset of the housing mount points..

I combined the '04 spaceball shifter with my '00 shifter to make a short shift

Looks nice joe, would be nice with a shorter throw, the 855īs like the throw in an amazone :D
855 T5 2.3 manual, 18T, 391cc injectors, mapped to 1.15, 3" dp and exhaust, Bilstein/HR aprox 35mm, S70r brakes with Brembo gold discs and ferodo 3000 pads, Mintex pads rear (squeal), Glt cams more but i just cant remember right now. Btw i live in sweden. New engine and tranny going in, just waiting for the clutch.

REMEMBER AN GASOLINE ENGINE DOES NOT PRODUCE CO2, THAT COMES AFTER THE CATALYST. BE ENVIROMENTAL FRIENDLY, DITCH THE CAT.

Here's a list of what the M66 came in for our North American market:

M66 AWD
P1 '04.5+ S40 T5 AWD / V50 T5 AWD
P2 '04-'07 S60R / V70R

M66 FWD
P1 '07+ C30 T5
'06+ C70 T5
'04.5+ S40 T5 / V50 T5
P2 '05-'08 S60 T5 / V70 T5

I am curious of the differences between the P1 and P2 M66 models. There are probably more P1 M66's on the road than there are P2 M66's...

I'm in the middle of an M56LK to M66W (FWD) swap right now and it's a doozy :). I sourced my M66W from a S40 T5 (actually from Laval). There have been some minor catches - which were fairly easily sorted out since I'm a P2 and the M66W does come in earlier P2s. Rear engine mount, shift bracket (180 degrees from what it is in the S40), shift cables and gear shifter assembly were all swapped out. I think that's all I've done so far... Hopefully my car will be safely mobile this week and I'll post up a parts list. Right now I'm trying to see if I can the reverse lockout solenoid to work with the existing wiring (lockout wiring is there, but wasn't actually used in manual P2s until later on). We're trying to see if we can get a software flash to make it function.
