Its time to look for tires again, wondering if anyone has any experience with any of these:

Dunlop Direzza DZ101
Yokohama S.drive
Hankook Ventus R-S2
Continental ContiExtremeContact (all season)
Yokohama AVID W4S (all season)

I had Kumho Ecsta SPTs last and was happy with them in every regard except that they wore out quicker than I would have liked, so i want something that will at least last as long if not longer.

I have gone through 5 different sets of tires in 3 yrs excluding last years winters. I can tell you im really happy with the DZ101s i have now. They look great, handle great, and are lasting alot longer than the Falken 615s i had on there last year. I got 9000KM or 5000miles out of them and the last 2k was pushin it. I have also had a lot of People say how nice the Tire looks!

I'm running the Dunlop DZ101's right now. I had them on my last wagon and loved every aspect of them, so when it was time to get new rubber for the R there was no decision to make. Ran there SP sport 5000 asymmetrical, and they were an awsome tire IMOA as well, would've gotten them instead of the DZ101's but they were a special order at the time and didn't want to cough up the extra coin.

The sidewall on those Continentals is seriously paper thin and consequently flexes like mad. Stay far, far away. Check out the Bridgestone RE960AS.

I have heard and read good things about the Dunlop tires. I have not used them myself, I am going with Eagle 1 tires next.

I like what you guys are saying about the Dunlops. I had FM901's on my 850 back in the day and loved them, but they are discontinued. I know it seems kinda dumb, but how big is the rim protector on the DZ101's? the FM901's has massive rim protectors which I really liked.

I was thinking I wanted an all season, but could go for a summer tire too. Basically I want it to handle decent in wet (gotta love portland) and dry and last a long time.

looked at the RE960AS, way too expensive for me, $70 more per tire than all the other ones i'm looking at.

The Rim protectors on the DZ101s are pretty juicy, and another reason i like these tires. There also good in the wet. Didnt you live in Waterdown?

In waterloo, close enough, lol. Moved out to the west coast though, and these tires are for the new car

I have sumitomo HTZ III or something like that and I like them. Not the most aggressive tire but so far have worked out well, plus they were only like $100 per (although I have a size that is not as common as others)

Oh, and I run Yoko YK520's and they are very good so far with 25k on em.

Just switched from General Exclaims, to Hankook EVO V12's. So far great wet traction, much quieter on the road, and $400 out the door from Town Fair Tire with manufacturers rebate.

The S60 has Yokohamas and have no probs with them either.

Good luck.

The continentals sucked ass, loud, noisy, harsh ride, and they wore out really quick.

I only had my Good year Eagle Gt's for about a week before my car was totalled but I loved them they were quiet and not too harsh of a ride, they had good grip as well. The Eagle Gt also has a 50,000 mile tread wear warrante. I would suggest buying them through a national chain if you plan on using the warante program, it will be less of a hassle when you make your claim with Good year. The Gt's also have a rim protector and are all seasons

 my bad, yeah directional tires suck, and i need to rotate from left to right since torque steer is so rampant

seeing as you've listed the Hankook RS-2s i'll just add that these tyres are more track orientated then the others you've listed. when cold traction in the dry let alone the wet isn't brilliant but is okay. lateral grip is still pretty good. with some temperature in them though they're absolutely brilliant, i think you'd have to go to a more dedicated track tyre like a toyo R888 to outperform these.
