I'm glad that you guys are going to upgrade your grounds and such. It really does make a difference in amperage transfer. You will notice a difference in your electrical system, especially in cold weather.
When you do your rewire with 4awg audio cable make sure it's oxygen free, over time in the elements (under hood) the copper inside the cable even though it's covered with the jacket will oxidize.
When you lug your chassis connection, ensure that you provide a good connection point by scraping off some of the paint to expose bear metal. That is if you are making a new hole. A good connection should contact as much of the conductor as possible. The threads of a bolt or screw isn't enough for a battery connection to the chassis.

Certainly, provided we could work around my work schedule and such. Just shoot me a PM when you can.
Just to warn you, the cable is roughly 64 shipped from a well known Volvo dealership in TN and if you chose to have a Volvo indie or the dealer do the work it's going to run you ~300 bucks if not more. I would be happy to help you save that money.
Like I said, shoot me a PM and tell me a bit more about your problem.

We're probably looking at Friday morning or early next week. More mandatory overtime FTL!

Thanks for the input, speaking for myself.......I plan on a Tsunami negative battery terminal and Rockford 4 AWG wire, crimped, soldered and shrink wrapped then ran and secured in stock location. I will be sure to clean off the mating surface of the crimp terminal and chassis!
Thanks again.

You can forget helping out someone by scratching it up with jumper cables

In fact I picked up one. A first generation Tsunami, turns out that the plating that is supposed to be electrically conductive to the copper terminal it self wasn't. I wasn't able to start the car one day because if it.

I was going to say solder your wire lugs and ends, but most people do not have the means to get a 4awg wire hot enough to flow solder and not melt the whole wire. I use a 250w soldering iron. But a 90w with a large tip will do nicely.
Cheers

This weekend is actually pretty horrible.
I got hit with mandatory overtime at work tonight, tomorrow 7 pm to 7 am and then Saturday 3 pm to 11 pm.
Possibly one morning next week?
What kind of problem are you having? 850's do not have that fuse box and B+ cable that my S70 does......are you talking about an alternator needing replaced? Or?

It is holding higher than ever before cold/hot/whenever w/ no load on the battery......14.4 and will jump right to that as soon as I fire up the car.
However, with load at night, been my lights mostly it will dip down to about 13.5 and then shortly after to 13.2. It stays rock solid at 13.2 after that plunge which is an improvement but the issue remains.
The car also starts lightning fast no matter what the circumstances.
So next step will be to replace/beef up my battery grounds and install a new Volvo battery to alternator cable. It has got to be one of those damn things.
This will take place within the next 2 weeks or so.......my schedule's so crazy, working multiple shift 12 hour days, 6 days a week. NO FUN AT ALL.

I do not mind helping diagnose a car related issue but as far as dinner goes or any kind of funky payment my fiance would probably not approve.

Nothing personal but I wouldn't feel comfortable even if I were single just up and doing something like that with someone that I do not know. As I said though if you describe the problem your car is having I'd be more than happy to help troubleshoot.

Oh my, it's like taking rides in candy vans. Same concept really......iIt's nothing personal at all and I will do my best to trouble shoot the issue you're having if you describe it to me. I'd much rather know details about the problem before I tear into it.
To post pictures you need a hosting service, i.e. photobucket.....copy/paste image address.

I'm sorry I was just instructing on how to post pictures, I'm not interested in a personal photo or anything to that extent. I believe it was someone else that wanted your picture.
Your best bet would be to join the forum because, one....it is free, two....there is lots of good information and helpful individuals around. You can then start a thread describing your problem and gather feedback which will most likely take care of the issue.
I would really rather the clutter stay out of this thread.......I do not want pages of worthless information as I intended to help people by sharing my experience with the voltage issue.
