When I think about it, all the volvos running garrett turbos or any other large turbo and built engine capable of +400hp are all cars that have straight through 3" full exhausts and probably wouldn't have a chance at passes smog.

Are their any official sleepers on this board? A sleeper being a car that is completely stock looking/sounding.

I doubt many of the big turbo cars with loud exhaust have 400+hp.

If you are interested in doing it, definitely would be possible. I'm sure tons of the rwd guys have done it, I'm always seeing old rwd volvos at drags. No way you could keep the stock exhaust though, but with the right pieces you could make it sound pretty quiet/stock

Not all of them do/did ;)

3'' downpipe with cat to a 2 1/2 '' iPD exhaust

and from the front looked bone stock also, no fmic, had the ATec intercooler between radiator and a/c condenser

thats why it was fun racing people cause they looked and saw a stock volvo with an auto trans and laughed . . .

true, but cruising around you would never think 400 + hp . . .but when I stepped on it, then you knew . . especially at the dyno day at EPL when it sounded like a jet taking off

haha I never meant the actual stock exhaust, I meant quiet like stock.

I like how when I have my cut-out closed my car is as close to stock as it can get with the EST cat-back, but my car sure doesn't look stock anymore.

Turbor850, that's pretty cool! That's what I'm looking for.

I'd think if you did electric cut outs or something of the sort, that'd be a huge up to this exhaust situation..and lmfao..they'll know your coming =p

I'd think it to be entirely possible with a 19t...just keep the CBV(upgrade it to that VIVA spring or whatnot)..stock airbox so no loud "WOOSH"..dremel it out some...Then people will barely even know you have a volvo =0

I think Volans look good..but if you really wanna creep some folk out..get some Cetus..nothing says "omfg that cars slowww" like a 15 inch boring arse ri...m =) It always makes things fun in my 93.

stock grille and everything. Tune..i would do the IPD drop in intercooler upgrade. Rebuild the bottom end of the engine. Coilovers or w/e the adjustable type of suspension...Apparently they make electronic coilovers (idk about for our cars) ..of course were talking just massive ammounts of money here, but just imagine this.

You pull up to that mustang GT. They turn their head to the right. You turn yours to the left to realize its not a panzy V6 jerk-off mustang owner, just a regular semi-jack-off mustang GT owner, who hates the V6 owners himself =p He just drives by and floors it. You catch up to him at the red light. You both drive with your windows down. He just starts revving it. You go "hmmm.." ...You press 3 buttons...First all of a sudden your car starts to lower...then this loud "RASP RASP RASP" starts to appear...then you dial into your EBC and start pushing 20 PSI...

Needless to say this guy would just look over and go "uhhhh did NOT see that coming =) "

just thoughts..but definitely true sleeper, with true performance, 'seems' like it has its price

And what a horrible story, a Mustang? Really? The wagon, completely stock minus the 5spd, out ran my friends 07 Mustang GT. Last track day, all the new Mustangs were still in the low 15's, high 14's, with I/E.

And no way are you ever going to get a 19T to make 400whp. Well, I suppose never say never, but it's just not very practical.

haha, yes. I'm hoping to make more than 300 to the wheels come spring time, with a 19T. It already feel really strong, and pulls hard, just need little things tied up. Once I get the tune, intercooler, and possibly water/meth, I'll be on the way to the dyno.

A boy can dream right? =p

300 whp is more then enough for me though anyways...19t should be plenty for that goal properly tuned i hope =0 You have those custom s60R manifolds for that gt35 right? Anxious to see that setup :P

And i picked mustangs..cause well...all the drivers are douche-farks in my books, and i love to see awe-struck owners of them...especially the older fox-body style ones...talk about yuck. + when you say they were running 14's /15's..it really makes me remeber how much sh*t they talk, when we can outrun that.

I've never had an encounter with a GT in my R...i always enjoyed smoking the V6'ers in my NA ...always thought it was a hoot watching 2 cars go really slow, then a fast car just zoooms on by!

Still...you don't think all that jazz would make a nice sleeper, 400hp or not. I mean....theres a limit to the sleep ability i'm sure...this is coming from a kid who wants to put an LS1 in a 240sx sooo =)

Just my 2 cents. I know my limitations with a 19t now though...300whp or bust :D

i've been thinkin about throwing a k24 in a 98 S70 - and really crank her up (with rods and pistons) - that should be good for some nice hp numbers :)

Should think about the tune first. There are a bunch of people with decently sized turbos that don't put down 'nice hp numbers'.
