Drive it (1/4 mile pulls, traps, 40-80 times, 70-110 times) as bench marks after you've done a stage zero as is .. then compare your changes.
Totally...Hopefully heading out to the drags on Friday night...for some 1/4's...as for the 70-110 times, not likely given the "legality" of doing so around here...

When are you going to start swapping parts to the Yellow?

Not sure yet, still waiting on insurance to get their sheeeet together...the go fast parts probably won't happen for a month, but wheels and suspension will probably happen soon...
I'm beginning to think that I will do the manual swap sooner than later as it would be MUCH easier to do with all the parts still attached to Darth, and then swap em over...vs a pile of parts that in 6 months I would forget where everything went...

Yeah that seems like it would be much easier.
Should be a fun project to swap over all the parts!

Today was a freaking great day...on so many levels.
1. Spent a good few hours with old darth pulling whatever I felt was "bolt" on. (reason being was that insurance settlement came through for my car, but I wasn't getting my car back, but I was given the chance to remove a few "select" things before it went to salvage...BUT...more on that in a sec)
Results of said stripping are here:

The "RIP" bucket

Captain Bondo was nice enough to come down and help out speeding things up.
I was happy with what I managed to pull, but sad that I was leaving behind my manual tranny with the brand new LSD, IPD sways, EST Exhaust, (we just couldn't budge it although as you can see we got the DP off), and a few other bits...
BUT - As I'm driving home, the insurance company calls, and I press one final time asking them to let me buy the car back from them. After a bit of discussing, they admited it was not a legal issue, but a liability/audit issue. As soon as I heard that I just pressed hard to find the $$ amount to them that would make the "audit" issue go away...and in the end, a fair $$ amount was agreed upon, and I GET MY CAR BACK!!! WHOOOT...so all that work stripping wasn't necessary, but I didn't care...I'm jacked...tomorrow it gets towed to my house, and next month I start stripping bits I want, and then selling everything else. The motor will go, interior etc...so stay tuned for the for sale thread. I've had a few people PM me about "dibs", but in all fairness, I hadn't decided to sell anything, so it will be a first come once posted for sale.

In the mean time, I'll be swapping a fair bit onto the yellow on Saturday of what you see in the pictures, so more pics to come...I soooo feel like I made the right decision in sticking with another 850...and for once...I feel like I'm getting a fair deal...
Peace out...

And so it begins...

Couldn't resist this morning spending 5 minutes putting on the eggcrate...

Tomorrow is my birthday, and my family is out of town, so I am going to spend the whole day swapping all the "bolt" on stuff across. I couldn't think of a better birthday present.

If any of the locals want to come over, they are more than welcome. Darth will be in the garage, and if you want parts, you could probably come get em...PM me for address...

Can't wait to see this thing once you get everything on. What suspension are you running?

Or am I just missing it on the list at the top?

Just missing it in the list...but it's a large list, so no worries.

first good drive this weekend in the yellow. Bombed down to Seattle and back, confirmed my beliefs that this thing is in great running shape, had a blast...so smooth.

Finally had a few minutes this afternoon to swap the stereo and speakers over from Darth:

I have however, run into one serious problem, the wheel key that came with the car turned into butter the first time I tried to remove a wheel nut...any suggestions on how to remove these? Weld a nut onto it? ???
I have to remove the titans asap as the rubber is almost non existent...

There is NO way that thing is losing 30% through the auto trans. The rule of thumb for even AWD is 22-25%. Manual fwds lose 12-15%.

I think we can add to the fact that it was done on a mustang dyno and the car is 14 years old. No dyno is created the same.

was it done in 3rd gear?
