Thank You, he was impressed also, but I didn't know if he was baiting me or not, so I didn't talk about any of the mods, somethings are best left unsaid.
I just told him when I had the head off to do a valve job, I decided to pretty it up a bit. His jaw dropped when he saw the odomiter reads 298,376 miles!

How strict is the East coast compared to the Left coast?

The RIP is from IPD, I comes very reasonably polished, but I had to dress it up a bit, but that's just me and I have the equipment so I should use it!

I can't speak for the East cost, but I must say that I think the left coast has gotten a bit more relaxed. Up until the state economy went in the toilet, there were state referee stations, so if something looked out of the ordinary, the tech could pass you to a higher authority. Those stations aren’t around anymore, so as long as the computer says your car passes, they pass it. This may also depend on were you take your car to get smogged. Back when those referee stations were still operating, which was prior to my build, but I still had a RIP kit on it. I had some work done at the dealer because I didn’t have time to do it, and I needed the car smogged. They took one look at the RIP, said it wasn’t stock, failed me and sent me off to the referee. That was a real PITA.

I'm going in for my first smog since my head was rebuilt and I deleted EGR.

Hopefully, they won't notice since I have a 94 and only get a tailpipe test.
