I have ultra high temp RTV and I think it says its good to 2000*F

Is that good enough?

should be plenty good will usually not get over 1000F should be around 800F or so

Mine can go as high as 1400ºF, and that's read AFTER that flange (see pic). Unless the RTV specifically says for exhaust sealing, I wouldn't use it, is it the gold stuff similar to my pic? The black stuff that says O2 sensor safe usually is not suitable. Having said all that, if it says good to 2000ºF, then it should work.

Yes its orange just like yours...I guess you could call it gold but more or less an orange color

Looks like you good to go, then. Just let it setup awhile before you run the car - if it's a "large" gap, you'll just blow it out.

Nah its just a mechanical seal on the downpipe to AF housing...This should do the trick =)
