Champions are backwards from NGK. Higher = hotter. Same with Bosch

Just checked my manual, which may be different from LongBeach's car, but I doubt it. It calls for a Bosch 7 or Champion 9. 12 is WAY too hot for a turbo whiteblock application, no matter how you look at it.

Yup, Champion RC9gyc is good for stock, if boosting a bit more, champion rc7yc is ideal.

When you are talking about champion plugs, 7 is colder than 9.

Well monkey me running, I was way off with regards to champion and bosch. I stand humiliated and corrected. And 5 ranges to hot is much worse that 5 too cold.

How come you're the only one without a -1 or -2 in this thread right now?

not sure especially due to the fact that I found his original problem, and I stated that climate has nothing to do with spark plug heat range THAT much.

Why don't you guys stick with oem stuff. First able you are not heaving detonation, because you still have pistons.
Pinging is first detonation sign, sounds like somebody is playing with will metal balls inside compression chamber.
After a while your piston becomes those little balls.
Guys just use oem plugs gap them and you have nothing to worry about.
I am using NGK, made in japan and they last longer , haven't seen misfire on boost , stock ignition system .
25psi on garrett T3T04B, and T04E. Running every day almost. 20 000 miles with.
I am running coldest iridium plugs you can get. BKR8EIX, stock replacement part is BKR6EIX ,
BTW you need 5 of them
Build block,93 cams ,precision 5031E ,custom manifold, M56h ,custom 850r clutch, FMIC ,Full exhaust system, recaro seatd, custom 4 pistom alfa BBK , Sway bars and links , Bilstein suspension, Turbo Tuner
Dyno.
Runs like a champ , finally
PM me if you need any volvo parts

My NGK iridium's fouled out after 18k miles on stock set up.

I have Bosch single Platinum's for now, not sure which number they are... I just had FCP send me some that were "for my car"
