The finish of the plastic trims around my XC90 have started to fade. Is there anything I can do to improve the finish?

Volvo Part No 9510208, plastic cleaning-agent. This product will deep clean the surface, removing dirt and wax and give a renewed finish to bumpers and such. Volvo Part No 9510210, plastic protection-agent. This product will prevent a part that has been treated with the above mentioned product from fading or becoming discoloured. This agent also prevents wax from sticking, which can give a patchy surface. Please contact your Volvo dealership for further assistance.

these guys sell it... not too pricey.

no no no... dye not shine.

You can pretty much pick it up anywhere. Walmart, Harris Teeter (grocery store here on the east coast), CVS/Walgreens, etc...

wash the car before you apply it, make sure the trim is fairly dry. Apply it liberally and if you get any on the paint make sure to get it off. I didn't have any problem for the spots that I missed as far as getting it off, but it's better just to get it while it's wet.

make sure the trim doesn't get wet/rained on for about 2-3 days or you'll have to re-apply it. Basically, the longer the wait, the better. Make sure to apply a lot of it. it'll seep into the plastic and if you don't apply enough some areas will be lighter than others, and can leave streaks.

Take the trim off, clean it with car wash soap and water, and paint it with flat black krylon paint from walmart.
I went to about 5-6 different places to find the kiwi shoe dye:
Walmart, a few grocery stores, shoe dept, famous footwear, and some upper class business suit and leather shoe store in a mall, no dice.
They all have the shoe polish though...

Yes. Start at the front by the windshield. It pops right off (held in with clips). Just be careful not to bend it when removing it.

I found the kiwi dye at Target. If you can't find it there, you can always buy it online at walgreens.

"I have a T4, which octane rating must I use?

The S/V40 T4 engine is a high performance engine and it therefore requires 98 octane unleaded in order to perform as per the manufacturers specifications and performance figures. Using 95 octane unleaded will not cause any undue wear or have any negative effect on the engine. However, optimal performance will not be achieved and fuel consumption may be increased.
(December 2006)"

i love how they consider 95 to be a low octane, haha. North America FTL
