Went to Orlando today for the IKEA show, left from Jacksonville. I filled up before I left.
When I got back to school after the show, I noticed that there was 1/3 of a tank left, which is exactly twice the amount of fuel it used last time I made that trip. No CEL, and there doesn't appear to be a leak in the tank. Any ideas? Should I be worrying?

You could try the top-up method to double check your mileage: fill up before and after driving a known distance and use the gallons on the pump to do your calculations. Helps to know how many gallons the tank hold too. So if the pump says you used half a tank and the gauge reads empty the problem becomes readily apparent.

I meant to ask you about your gas mileage. That sounds about right though. I has 16 gallons when we began and had only 4 when I returned. So I used 12 gallons, and if you filled up then you used right about the same amount of gas as I did.
The entire trip was 287 miles, not including local driving around. So roughly an average of 24 mpg. Depending on the amount of city driving maybe more on the highway. If you only used 1/3 of a tank for the same trip, then 287/6 gallons = about 48mpg.
It might be 1-4 mpg less than it should be, but not that bad, as long as we are talking about round-trip for the gas usage.
PM me for my cell if you want to talk more about it logan.

Hmm I guess you're right Jeremy. Something just still seems off to me, and I'm not sure what. I'm driving to Tampa tomorrow, so I'm gonna fill up before I leave, and keep a real close eye on it.

Not quite as accurate as a direct miles, but you can always reset the total mpg and the car will recalculate it for you.
I've found it to be overly optimistic though. It said I averaged 26.5mpg on the total drive to ikea and back, it was probably closer to 23.5.

Yeah mine said 26 as well.
Idk, I'll reset it once I refuel, and I'll let you know how it goes once I get down there.
