I recently put my 1999 Volvo in the shop for a Transmission Rebuild. My reverse gear started slipping and it was obvious it was time.

Mechanic has had my car for over two weeks now, because he is saying that the Valve Body needs to be replaced. Problem is.....he cant find a replacement. Dealer wants $1600.00, thats to much money!!

I live in Souther California, any help would be much appreciated.

Reverse gone = failed transmission. You would be better off installing a good used transmission rather than dumping 1600 into the valve body.

Can you get a list of the codes stored in the TCM?
