Lets say i had an NA...

HOW THE HELL DOES THIS EVEN FIT ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD!?!? lol..am i the only one who thinks wtf how does it even bolt on?

Seriously, you want a good upgrade, go buy a 19t with the money instead. Be better spent imho.

Or save up for a GT35R Turbo =)

I'm just wondering how much the leet "dwon pipe" is gonna run me...

Basic rule of thumb for ebay: If the post has multiple simple grammatical errors, multiple mispelled words, lists a ridiculously broad grouping of applications, shows the wrong picture, repeats the word "aluminium" more than 50 times, *or* reuses the template from a camber kit he was selling, you may want to think 3-9 times before putting down any $$$.

Like the other guys said.Put your hard earned money elsewhere. That is a garbage kit and half of it wont work anyway.Custom fab..Spend your money on more reputable quality parts.

I figure since I have some personal experience with both those parts AND that particular eBay vendor, I'd post up. ;)

1) OP...what do you drive? I'm assuming an N/A?

2) The intercooler included is actually pretty good. Had a similar one on my 940T. Though, you wouldn't be able to use half of the piping included. The radii on the bends is too wide. You'll spend $250 in custom pipe work just to hook up the intercooler alone.

3) The China turbos are hit and miss. If you're a DIY guy and take it apart before you install it to make sure it's properly assembled and all the tolerances look good, you'd probably be OK. There's more than a few VW's I know of making 300+whp with those China turbos. I'd say about 75% of them stay together and run just fine. About 25% of them fail prematurely. For 200 bucks, it's almost worth taking the chance. Those aren't bad odds.

Most importantly...if you're N/A and you want boost, sell your N/A and buy a Turbo car. This would end up costing less than getting this kit to work properly on an N/A car would. Unless you're a veteran DIY-er. If that's the case, this is a pretty good bargain for the parts included.

If you're Turbo and looking for an upgrade, it would only cost you $300 to have your 15G converted to a 19T. That's what my local guy charges anyway. That includes a rebuild kit. This is a safer bet.

The china turbos are know for blowing seals with in 1000 miles..

You can get a fmic for ~200 bucks (intercooler plus pipes), oil catch can 20$, you cant use an external wastegate with the stock manifold (well you can but it requires lots of fab work)..

As every one has said, spend the money else where :)

I run a chinabay turbo on my 242 and it works quite well. Pushing about 300bhp. The reason some folks blow the oil seals out is because they don't read the spec sheet which states a restricter is required in the oil feel line to prevent over pressurizing the seals.

That turbo was originally a diesel turbo (no water cooling) so they can become overheated easier and this can also lead to premature failure. Basically, they can work but you get what you pay for. I got mine for $150 shipped to my door, hard to complain considering what you get... but certainly not for everyone.

Heres my honest opinion:
You get what you pay for
Fast, Cheap, Reliable : pick 2.

Your going for fast and cheap, and why not thats what we all want right? Well it wont be reliable. Its a universal kit it isn't designed for your car at all. You could probably piece together a nice stg 1 kit on VS for about the same price....Your engine is not the place to cheap out on so give it some respect and if your going to mod it at all give it some respectful well known and well trusted mods!

Just get more stickers for your car.

If there's no eggroll with your purchase fergedaboudit!

I could do a lotta damage with $700. R mani, ST17 tune, and a catback exhaust, with a little patient shopping and a desperate starving student or 2! B)

Stage 0, suspension/ handling upgrades, brakes, then performance, thats my formula for a car thats enjoyable to drive.

That seemed to be a common remark in the link I posted. An intercooler is a intercooler to a point. Im gonna go with a CX fmic for my project, and they are sellers on ebay but they also have their own site.

Again? That kit doesn't even have the right pieces to do a fmic unless you do quite a bit of bending yourself.
