To reduce exhaust volume/noise level, you want the most internal muffler volume (not just length). Also, mufflers have more and more effect the farther back they are placed in the exhaust.

Yea so I'm thinking a 6" round either 18" or 30" long core muffler positioned right after the cat should sound good. And then just have pipe running to the back of the car.

Add a muffler before the rear bumper, and thank me later.

You mean it will just barely fit in that long straight section under the car?
yes, but you can get it to fit if you place it between the braces.

Are you sure, most custom exhausts I have seen have the muffler located right after the cat and then just straight pipe all the way to the back?

Oh alright, hopefully a 30" core will fit under there.

I think it's time you lift the car and take a look with a tape measure.

If you still have that angled flange come spring time, I may buy it off you to save some $$. Do you have pics of it?

Yes, any decent shop should be able to do it without a problem. The angle flange flows more, since it's a lot bigger. The turbos with an angle flange turbine housing are more responsive, flow more air, and spool faster.

Prolly a stupid question but will this angled flange fit/work on my stock 2.5T turbo?

yes you should already have an angle flange. My car (01 s60 2.4t) had angle housing already.

Ok, then I will definately buy that flange off you come spring time when I'm ready.

Also, what size is it? Will it work with the 3" DP I'm planning on getting?

yes the angle flange outlet is about 3" and chokes down to 2.5" after the flange (in the first bend).

So the angle flange will weld onto a 3" easily

Brian, not for nothing, but I love the Boost Gauge, and the custom housing you made for me!
I'm sure if you continue making these along with your great service and support...
Come springtime, you will be able to afford a GOLD plated exhaust!
Keep up the good work.
As soon as I can I'll give you my order for a wideband!
Very Best,
Rob
