Time is money when you are paying for someone to help you that has experience and can provide good work. Dave has neither and I wouldn't let him near helping on the car, even for free.
dude you have no idea... at the install meets I was telling and showing people what to do.

I am a measure 3 times cut 1 time kind of guy when it comes to working on my car or anyone's car.

I love the fact that you troll a thread and the only thing you said was not helpful and attacked me... I bet you are the little kid that spends his time -1 me

ANYWAYS...

Let us know when you are in MD and we can help OP

On the subject of "paying for help"... I think it's important to remember these cars are our mutual hobby (as well as frustration sometimes). I do not feel I would ever charge someone or think I should be charged money to work on these cars. That's counter productive, and 100% against what we're trying to save by helping one another in the first place. Fuck, parts cost enough as it is!!

I owe mad thanks to Scandalo for all the help he's put in on my XC restoration and the 960 teardown... it's something we should all be doing to help each other out, that's all I'm saying.

Agreed.

And to t5bandit or whatever, do you even personally know Dave, or just know him from the forum?

Either way, Dick move saying he has experience, nor good work quality. Just because people bust on Dave, and vice versa, doesn't mean he's a noob.

I think I'm starting to take the internet too serious.

I watched dave do his tie rods...And I can tell you he is one careful guy. I would trust Dave with my car without a doubt, and I would trust Adam too. Just because someone asks a lot of questions does not mean they don't know anything. Not saying I would pay either of them because I actually enjoy working on my car. This whole thread just turned into a big e fight, how about we actually help the OP out? If your going to fly out from Cali to help him then go ahead....

Thanks Jon,

Well I hope Akin gets the help he needs... if not we might have to do another "AKIN INSTALL" meet in the near future :)

We'll make that install meet next week Saturday (21st). Hopefully you and John will be free. I want to feel an 18T in mi car before I go back to school. Thanks again guys. If I can't pay, can I at least bring beer.......which will be drunk 'after' the install? :)

No Akin! I was supposed to do an cruise in Baltimore! and I have to deliver some parts. If you still do it that day I will swing by after the cruise. I'm terribly sorry. Hopefully someone else can jump on the boost gauge and pod. The turbo is all 13mm and its just a combo of getting the right angle on the last few bolts. Infact when I took my 16t out i took out the manifold then the turbo....
