ok well im going to be starting my Turbo rebuild. and first on my list is the MBC. i see them @ all prices. from the wright up i seen on how to make your own they all seem to be more or less the same idea....so im wondering should i just get whatever is cheap or is there a reason to get a high end one?

most specifically i was looking @ this....
http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories

it seems to be all over ebay and gets good reviews from all the buyers i have seen.

Hallman Pro.

I can't tell you how many people I read about on forums who just had to go ghetto cheap on a boost controller (but they'll spend $1000 on bling bling rims), and all the while they complain about boost spikes. Splurge the $65 or so on a decent controller.

I spend $120 on trans fluid - what's so bad about $65!?

also just to add.....would and "in cabin MBC" be prone to more boost spike? i understand that it would be extending the vac lines....and i would assume as such would take a little longer to respond......

i had this boost controller, its retarded because it is two pieces, i don't know if it would take longer to boost, i just felt it was very cheap, i then went with the nxs boost controller, one piece, but its under the hood, feels stronger though, also probably has a bigger spring. its around $20 and has great reviews.

what do you have a glt or t5?

I would only do an EBC for in-cabin; but I've never had a car where I've adjusted boost enough to really need it in the cabin. I only raised the boost when I went to the track. Yes, the longer the vac lines, the higher chance of spikes.

yea you could just do longer vac lines into the car

just make sure you do stage zero and make sure the wastegate rod is extended before adding a mbc, otherwise you may have problems with it hesitating under boost.

If you want in Cabin go with an EBC other wise get a GOOD mbc. The link you posted can't even spell properly I mean come on what do you think their customer service is like? Spend some extra $ and get a good one. Your car is not something you cheap out with...especially the engine. If it was something small and insignificant sure go cheap, but boost spikes are bad...

Here's my advice get a 2 stg mbc they are around 150 all you do is set a low stage and a high stage. At a flip of a switch you can change it and then you can change the pressure in the cabin. Most likely you'll want two settings one low and one high. Then you'll be able to change it from the cabin and it will still look decent in the cabin.

Hallman Pro RX, they have an in cabin kit.

$17.95? Get what you pay for. 3bar racing/ Dawes device would be my "cheap" choice.

ok maybe im retarded?????????????????????????????????????????

internally they should all be the same....ball, spring, screw that adjust spring........yes or no?

i see the point of different springs and ball combination's.... but i still don't see the point in spending almost $200 for 1 MBC vs a $20 mbc. IF they are the same internally then im spending a bunch of money on the name brand?

Same in-cabin mbc as the the one in the link you posted except it has a turbosmart sticker on it, and it's only 130 dollars more.

Try that one? I'm copying and pasting it. Weird, maybe it's a sketch site or something. Anyways, exact same one that was in your link, but has turbosmart sticker on the side. They're all probably coming from the same place, kinda makes me question the quality of it.

That one doesn't work either. I suck.

Hey, then there's your answer. Do it. $10 MBC is yours.

I've seen the answer to that personally on friend's cars a couple of times. That's why I would never use a "Home Depot" controller.

Time for you to roll the dice trying to save ~50 bucks and find out for yourself! That $50 bucks won't go very far replacing a HG or a rod though.

Good luck!

PS...I don't think they are making $100+ profit on a $60 to $79 item, unless they found a way to bend the space-time continuum or something. :P

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i have no idea what your talking about. streetunit.com is selling for $140 a MBC that on ebay is selling for $20 shipped. so thats well over a $100 profit.

everyone seems to say get the more expensive ones but no one yet has explained why. i understand that extending the line might cause me to spike so im going to consider a normal mbc, that being said i dont really see whats the difference between.....

this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories

this
http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories

this
http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories

or this

http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories

other than the way you adjust the boost, they all seem to have the same design. so someone please explain to me why one is inferior to the other? thats what i want to know.

k thanks bye

I say get a cheap one find out if there is a difference. I really like that last one there. It seems like you can get the convenience of an in cabin MBC with out the supposed boost spikes.
