It passed last night along party lines.

Pelosi hails it a landmark vote, along the significance of Social Security And Medicare.

SS, billions of $'s underfunded, bankrupt. Fail

Medicare, billions of dollars underfunded, bankrupt. Fail

USPS--broke.Fail

US Dept of Education. Fail, dropout rates and literacy rates in the shitter.

CASh4clunkers? $24,000 per car and most vehicles bought were pickup trucks, that had worse gas mileage than the ones scrapped. or japmoblies.

FannyMae, FreddyMac?--Broke and begging for more money, and helped start this economic misery.

Trillion dollar stimulus, and 10.2% unemployment.

Are there any other govt run plans that you can think of that are broken?

Keep sending them money, and they will find a way to blow it.

I like how ppl blame Obama for all of this crap, when it's been going down the tubes LONG before he was old enough to drive a car, let alone since he's been in office.

Not saying YOU'RE ignorant enough to blame one person, but it's astounding how many people ARE. I was behind a car not long ago that had a cardboard sign in the back that read "Obama, this is YOUR economy." News flash...no, it isn't. It's Bush's. But ignorance is bliss, I suppose. ;)

All this anti-gov't sentiment is really pointless. Unless you're going to mount a bloody anarchistic revolution and overthrow the "evil empire," I don't see what the point in whining is. The other thing that gets me, is that why did all this anti-Big Brother talk just start, after Obama became elected? I never saw or heard ANYTHING about people complaining to this degree about the Gov't...yet it's un-changed...exactly the same as it's always been...getting worse one day at a time...until now, all of a sudden, people think it's the end of the world.

I don't get people sometimes. lol.

Thank you for pointing this out! It is rather interesting how she left out how SS and Medicare are now doing. Not surprised though.

Fair point. I have noticed it post-election.

Well after the election Republicans didnt have much of anything to define wtf they were doing and in the end they found the anti-govt movement and jumped on it. And Fox News got on board with it as well. It seems Republicans dont want big government when they arent in power...but when they are, well...

And its kinda funny how the Republican party is all gung-ho about small government now when in fact they did all they could to get Ron Paul off the stage during the Republican primaries <_< <_< ...who was the only one up there who was in favor of smaller government then. Ask them about that one.

In the end...Democrat...Republican...their all politicians first.

I wouldn't say it's the republicans, but the conservative movement sweeping through the country. The republican party is just trying to ride on the coat tails of this movement.

Obama hasn't done anything to help the situation, infact, he's done the complete opposite. You can't deny the C4C program was idiocy at its finest. As for the anti-big government talk, it's been going on long before Obama was elected and gained popularity in Bush's second term when he went on a money spending binge. The fact the Obama has doubled the nations debt in the short amount of time has further escalated things... The thing that really scares people, are the things Obama has discussed doing (civilian army, cap and trade, etc) and the people he has associated himself before and since his election. Open your eyes, and you'll see for yourself that this dude sucks balls.

I'm not one of these scared people, but I think we're heading down a bad path. I don't know about you, but I'm not into paying anymore taxes either which is exactly where we're heading.

The effects of the economy started even before the bush era with the repeal of the glass seagall act during the clinton era. However, the bush administration exacerbated the problem with increased spending and that has continued into the obama administration.

The anti gov't talk started with with the groundswell of grass roots republicans and then the national media picked it up. the rep party is just riding the wave right now. It's not like they are going to shoot something down that helps them

The thing i am scared about is obama is such a smooth talker, his issues get glossed over and people don't really pay attention to the issues.

I agree there needs to be some form of gov't help but the amount at which the gov't is intervening is excessive. People feel entitled to too much and want the gov't to pay for it all.

L8APEKS,

You don't know me. At all.

I've been on these bastards since Reagan. And if you check my posts, I'm on Congress and Senate as well as The Holy One.

Stop whining? How about I have the right to complain about anything I want whenever I want?

Just sit there and take the fist in the ass, what are you fucking nuts? I've called all 5 congressman in CT, and both Senators. Plus emails. You think I waste my voice on your dumb ass, without letting the people who can do something about know how I feel? I'm not some dumb sheep you can lead to the slaughter, bone head.

ANd yeah, if the situation warranted an uprising, I'd be there. How bout you? You'd rather sit there in your fat little life and let them suck your freedom from you, you free speech, your free thought, your free association?

Read the Constitution, every friggin word, and get back to me about how things can't be changed. I spent 15 yrs in uniform defending that document, and I'll damn well say what the fuck ever I want to about the un-American scum in the White House and the Capitol. Do you really believe they are doing whats best for the country?

Bet you don't even vote, loser.

These motherfuckers are gonna kill small business with taxes and health care mandates, killing any hope of job growth. Finance a bridge? Where do the jobs go when the bridge is built?. Health care savings accounts will be gone. Care will be delayed, there fore care is denied.

Oregon just reported that the stimulus created 9000 new jobs. 6000 of 'em were govt positions. Govt jobs FTMFL.

Wake up or bend over. I'm tired of this passive bullshit from people who don't know shit about politics, economics, or sociology. Or more importantly history.

The whole fucking concept of the Fed in my life is un-Constitutional.

Lock and Load bitches. It's as American as you can get. And yeah I'm pissed and a bit crazy. Nothing personal, just business, Fredo.

Does not dispute the facts and history of Alinsky, Cloward and Pivens. Use another source, I don't care what it is, and tell me that these are lies about those 3 communists. Tell me their intent isn't to change the structure of the U.S. Change my mind.

I got pics of C&P on the dais with Clinton as he signs a bill, the fraud ridden Motor-Voter law.More info, if you take off the Rose colored glasses.

Is it a coincidence that C&P were professors at Columbia University, Obamas Alma matter, and a CHicago based community organizer? Or that Alinsky was a Chicago based radical/ community organizer during the times the Chicago ward politics was at it's hay day? And a Capone sycophant in his youth? Mrs. Clinton was also a Chicago area wonk in the day.

Whats your unbiased source, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, LA Times, Chicago Tribune?

You can gloss over history all you want but you can't change the truth. Start disputing facts without opinion.

I would answer by saying that there are idealogues behind every administration. Consider the influence wielded by Project for New American Century, Kristol, et. al. on the previous eight years. Did this amount to a takeover of anything? Hardly. Did those on the left point this out as something of a takeover conspiracy? You betcha.

Lately, I've found myself in a position to rebut the most outlandish claims based on internet sources that turned out to be largely misinformation that sounded really convincing. I regard most everything I encounter on the net as something that requires additional verification. Usually, it does not stand that test.

Bottom line: don't believe everything you read. Verify.

Ummm, facts are still true about the 3 stooges.

And I don't think the right wing cabal you speak of wanted to destroy the system by putting everyone on welfare and over taxing the social safety net.

And then shredding the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Still trying to justify your vote for Obama or what? :D

No, they simply wanted to create an imperial presidency by misconstruing the Constitution while dismantling civil liberties in an atmosphere of a constant state of war against an amorphous enemy. Of course, David Addington, one of the architects of the warrantless wiretapping policy, carried a copy of the Constitution around with him. It will be hard to know how history will judge the last administration -- especially the office of Vice President -- because Addington was rather effective at elevating executive privilege to a level never before seen in the history of this Republic.

Oh, and while we're talking about redistribution:

Facts.

You keep confusing me with a Republican. By the way the tide will turn against Obamites, it has already begun.

Still have not refuted Cloward, PIvens, Alinsky, because you can't. And the cabal you have spoken of is not in power now, the new left is.

By the way, nearly 30% of all attacks on US since 9/11 have occurred in the last 9 months, Oba-maos watch...

Were you troubled by the Bushies policies on terrorism? I wasn't, because no one died by Islamo facist actions.

"Little Rock – Authorities have identified the soldier killed in Monday’s double-shooting outside a U.S Army recruitment office in west Little Rock.

According to Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper, 23-year-old William Long of Conway died shortly after being transported to a Little Rock hospital.

Police say the incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. at a U.S. Army Navy Career Center inside the Ashley Square Shopping Center at 9112 North Rodney Parham Road. According to Lt. Terry Hastings with the Little Rock Police Department, two enlisted soldiers standing outside the office were hit when a suspect drove up in a black SUV and began shooting.
-As with most islamic terrorist acts this was done by a low life to cowardly to face them man to man.

At a briefing Monday afternoon, Little Rock police chief Stuart Thomas identified the suspect as Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad, 24, of Little Rock. Thomas says Muhammad also goes by the name Carlos Bledsoe.
-Another brainwashed convert to the cult.

Hastings identified the second wounded soldier as Quinton Ezeagwula, age unknown. He remains at a local hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Muhammad led police on a brief pursuit towards downtown Little Rock, before being taken into custody in the area of the Interstate 30/630 interchange. Authorities searched the vehicle and found an assault rifle, Hastings said. A bomb squad was called in, as police were concerned about two bags in the vehicle, but no explosives were found, he said.
-Looks like this guy was afraid to fight a real jihad and took the easy was out, his personal cowardice was confirmed by his surrender.

At the Monday-afternoon briefing, Thomas said investigators believe Muhammad acted alone, and likely carried “political and religious motives.” Thomas said the gunman targeted the military but was not believed to be part of a broader scheme.
-No scheme just the normal old islam.

Muhammad faces one capital murder charge, and 15 counts of terroristic acts.

The FBI has opened an investigation into the incident, said Steven Frazier, spokesman for the agency’s Little Rock office. “Based on what we find, we will determine whether there is any federal jurisdiction to prosecute,” he said.
-I did not know they could refuse a terror case. May be they should schedule a new round of islamic awareness training classes. (Dripping contempt and scorn)

According to Army Lt. Col. Thomas F. Artis, Long and Ezeagwula were not recruiters, but part of a recruiting program called “hometown recruiting assistance.” Artis says recruiters use soldiers to tell their stories and talk to potential recruits while they are visiting or based back in their home region.

Long and Ezeagwula were just out of basic training, Artis said, and had not been deployed.
-Everyone that puts on the uniform understands that decision could require the ultimate sacrifice. To die at the hands of a coward is not the way most would pick to go but it happens often to our men and women in uniform. "

And lets not forget FT. Hood.
"Property is the fruit of labor...property is desirable...is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." - Abe Lincoln

Well, I am also no leftie - I have found I live longer and with less stress if I avoid extremes ...

My intent is not to refute CPA; I am merely debunking the idea that a so-called "cabal" can change the overall nature of the way in which that cumbersome beast we know as our federal government is run. I tried to do this by illustrating that the previous "cabal" was also ultimately ineffectual in realizing their goals, whatever they were.

But I will say that I AM troubled by the previous administration's policies with respect to terrorism, as I feel that the expanded incursion into Iraq, coupled with those who were wrongly victimized by extraordinary rendition actually helped to spread the appeal of extremist zeal among the Islamic nations.

As to this: <<no one died by Islamo facist actions.>> -- I think you will have to qualify that statement, as it sort of ignores what happened in London and Madrid a few years ago, or Mumbai, or what happens on the streets of Baghdad and Kabul on a regular basis.

That there has been activity within the last nine months indicates that terrorist plots that were launched some time ago are now coming to fruition.
