I worked on that car for about a month when it came to the northeast. My friend jim bought it, and brought it to me to button up all the odds and ends. It was awesome...great brakes, suspension, trans and power. It really could have used a different tune IMO, it was running a remapped R ecu when i had it. I know he sold it, not sure to whom. But damn, it was fast and really nice overall. I zipped it around my dealer in doylestown while i fixed it... never had any major problems when i had it here.

i own the car now. and who ever did the work on it before didnt know what OEM bolts were. the cam cover has half the bolts stripped out, and used metric bolts from home depot that were over sized. I have had to fix a few annoying things on the car, and it has not been driven 300 miles in the past year. from oil leaks to stripped bolts its been very frustrating. but soon the car will be fixed and with a tuning system that i can tune the car correctly. car currently sits in my garage.......
not pointing fingers Ptouch, just clarifying where and why the car hasnt been seen.

haha yeah i remember those cam cover bolts! It came to him like that, and they leaked like a mofo!
It came my way with one loose bolt holding the axle carrier on the pass side axle and in rough shape alltogether. For your maintenance records, i did front and rear cam seals, t-belt/tensioner, l/f CV joints, exhaust bracketry (it kept hitting the l/r spring), fixed that R/F axle carrier and replaced the axle seal, new breather box and hoses, rebuilt the shifter assembly inside the car with the correct shims and angel clips, fixed some cowl drain cloggage, and a few vacuum lines got replaced in the process. oh...and it got a new clutch master cylinder. Good luck with those silly bolts. I have an extra cyl. head at work with the correct bolts if you end up needing a new set.

Doug's car had everything in place to be fast. Just like his 242. Wanted to build it and document it, didn't want to achieve its potential...
I think the 242 has a best of 13.6 at 106 (IIRC, and at lower boost than he ended up running). I think the 850 ran a 14.2 at 105 or something like that. He puts nice cars together, for sure. Just doesn't see them through to their potential
He has since moved onto building guitars, and does insane wood working.

the foam spoiler kinda killed the look of dougs car.. might be why some didnt care so much for it?
