Think i blew my pressure plate so i'm looking to upgrade to something better than stock. Options

only 262whp but 380ft lb now, but that is only for 1500rpms then it tapers down to 300 at redline. but i am upgrading my turbo for a gt35r or 50trim soon and want to make sure the power will hold

Clutch only has 50k hard miles on it. I was told it was an R clutch but i think its stock, when i blew my last transmission (differential) the clutch and pressure plate looked brand new

did you measure the clutch plate diameter when you had it out?

and again, just like in your other thread, are you running dual mass or single mass, and which do you want to use?

I made 388 to the wheels on a stock R clutch. Smokes the 285's in 3rd gear and it doesn't slip in 4th.

I'm planning on some more power so I am upgrading to a 707 pressure plate if I can buy just the pressure plate somewhere.

The R clutch is good, for what it is.

Guys, why are you referencing how much power the clutch can hold? Torque is what matters for clutches, power is just a function of that torque, and whatever RPM it happens to be spinning at

Yes and no - if cars only had one gear you would would be right.

Rob- I was on the phone with Southbend a few weeks ago thinking of how I should spend money I don't have...Send them an old clutch and they'll remove the friction surfaces and put on their stage 3 composite. The quote that *I forgot his name* gave me was I think $175? They also re-pin single mass flywheels for the Sachs 707 pressure plate.

You technically don't even need the custom clutch though...An R clutch will be perfect with a 707 pressure plate and single mass flywheel. The pressure plate itself gives 3000lbs of clamping force I think?? It'll feel nice and smooth like stock but I don't think you'll ever make it slip

R clutch anbd PP are good for 300whp. Grab that and call it a day.
