Several months ago, on the way to the dealer (convenient), my driver side mirror's glass simply falls off and onto the road. I was already on my way to get something else fixed (forget what) and get the oil changed, so I simply added it into the list of *stuff* to get fixed.
Today, driving home for lunch, I noticed my passenger side mirror wobbling. Uh oh. I pulled over ASAP and checked and it was peeling back from the plastic. I grabbed and lightly pulled and it came right off. Whew. At least I managed to save the glass this time.
Now, I have 2 questions:
1. Ideas for how to re-glue this bad boy back on? I figure it can't hurt to at least clean/smooth both sides and re-apply some adhesive, but not sure what to use. Glass + plastic seems hard to find a good adhesive for, and if I get it wrong, SMASH! heh.
2. Does anyone know how to replace this entire unit when ordered? I may just buy the part and do it myself, or have the shop do it again (oil change coming up this week). Was hoping it's really easy to do since I can order the part online.
Thanks for any help.

2 part epoxy around the edge, clean up any excess. Not sure what you should do for the thermal interface between the glass and the heater though.

With the power on, using the mirror switch, put your mirror all the way to the right.
Now that you can reach behind the left side..pull the left side out (one handed), Just be careful as you can break the motor clips.
I think it doesn't matter which way you do it (left or right side of the mirror)
The mirror is around $55 last time I checked
