This is the reason I will not be putting an 18T on my 855!

Not sure on power yet...hard to judge because she's very light (~2,050 lbs) so it's easy to over-estimate the power. I'd say around 200hp/200tq (crank). I've owned several of these over the years...pretty cheap and easy to work on overall. Just like a Brick in that respect! I'll dyno in December. She's fun though!

Still using the G-Lader; 62mm pulley (should ideally make 17-18psi). Stage 4 kit (268 cam, chip, 3.5 bar FPR, and typically a 68mm/15psi pulley). Some sort of 2.5" exhaust. Bilstein Sports, Eibach springs. MSD ignition on the shelf will be installed soon.

Dash was removed...heater core, blower motor, A/C all removed. Carbon fiber hood with rice rocket paint scheme from previous owner. Anything not required to run the engine has been removed. Autopower roll bar, Corbeau Forza fiberglass seat, BMI harness.

Axis wheels in the garage (11 lbs in 15"), and when I can, some Falken RT-615's for weekend track events. Can't wait to get this thing out to the track!

I had a '90 G60 Corrado and a 92 G60 Passat Syncro. I think it is a great little engine and I enjoyed both of them a lot. I bit it is tons of fun in a completely stripped car. :D

Thanks! :) Yeah, except for the G-Lader blower, the durability of VW's 1.8L SOHC engines very much reminds me of Redblock Volvos. I've crammed well above 20psi boost into these several times, and they can take every bit of it. Too bad the head is so restrictive...the head design and the G60 blower were the Achilles' Heels of these cars. Still, address the blower (rebuild) and they can go like stink!

My last G60 made close to 220whp and 230wtq @ 2,425 lbs curb weight. That thing embarassed stock STI's from a roll. Not bad for such an antiquated piece of engineering! I'll re-weigh it and dyno it soon. Been making a few little changes here and there. :)

Haha...thanks you guys. :)

I don't know about "better." I seriously love my 850! And my 850 seems sooooo smooth and sooooo quiet after driving this buzzbox...they compliment each other in that way. :) I'll have more pics/vid after tomorrow, and a dyno of both the 850 and this next month. :)

pretty much any car for racing is gonna be better than a volvo. Then again, how would I convince all these people here? some of the people here think that their volvo defies the laws of physics.

point is, volvos are heavy, non-aerodynamic, fwd boxes. They're not 'tuner' cars(for a reason) and never will be. Anyone who wastes their money on modifying a volvo is a moron, and I'm one of them.

if you don't agree with this you might want to go on youtube and talk to all your volvo friends about how 14 seconds for a volvo in the 1320 is quick. lol

jetta? I'm saying a corrado is better than an 850 for a track. (Can I get a few more -1s?) I love volvos as much as everyone else on this site, but seriously, people are fan boys.

Of course any car can be a great racer with enough money. Travis, do you honestly think that an 850 is a seriously competitive track car?
