So, list of mods is in the signature. I am looking for my next project. I have narrowed it down to a few things and would like to get everyone's opinion on what order I should tackle the projects, and why it would be beneficial in that order. Also, what other modifications would help out the performance of my T5.

M56 swap with LSD - $1300 (+$1500 for a MTE remap)
autotech software upgrade - $900
K24 upgrade - $1300 (from viva)
S60R green injectors - $700 (from viva)
Anything you think applicable

Thanks for helping me out!

~Mike

I would think the k24, injectors, and retune all go together correct. In that case your deciding on m56 vs performance.

figure out which you want more and go from there. what kind of driving do you do?

definitely the m56... better efficiency and with the LSD you will have better control.

more power is not really interesting with a slush box.

5speed with lsd is my pick.

My car is an OEM 5speed and I went with a quaife this summer, best mod I ever did, period.

but are you buying a tranny with a quaife. If not I dont know where you got that price from?

My lsd cost me 1250$ alone, and I already had the tranny.

To be honest, I don't know what a quaife is, lol. :( The transmission kit would cost $1300 ish (P2 M56). I have a buddy of mine (works at a local dealership) who would do the install for free. I felt bad so I said I would give him my transmission. The switch to the M56 is going to be pretty costly, with the tranny ($1300), remap ($1500), and LSD (1250). I could waite on the LSD of course.

yea you didnt account in the cost of the lsd with the tranny in your first post thats why we are confused. I still vote m56, even if it doesnt have an lsd its still worth it.

edit: quaife is the company that builds the LSD units for the m56.

I would say I do spirited driving 50% of the time. And thanks for mentioning who makes the LDH. Another question, is marco from mte the only one who can do the remap for a manual conversion?

I would not spend that much on the injectors. There's a site that several members on here ordered from if you're okay with buying used injectors.

injectors you can find used for around 300 if you look. same with the k25. usually those can be had in the 600-700 range.

There is a quaife lsd gb being started right now for about 900 shipped. you could get in on that if you decided to go that route.

Thanks for all the opinions. It looks like the swap will be the best bet. I have another quick question. How will I install the remap into my OBDII? Justin suggested coupling it with the ipd softloader and doing via a data transfer. If I don't have the softloader, how would I go about doing that transfer? Thanks again.

Back on topic, I thought 2k5 S60 T5s had the k24. Just put an M56H, and put your name on the list of the potential Quaife LSD buyers, I will doing a GB soon. Prices will be pretty low.

And I believe we just solved your money issue, just redistribute funds from turbo and you can grab yourself a LSD and a set of used injectors on the cheap for the amount that you would have spent on the K24 that your car already has on it ;)

O, lol, I knew it had the K24. I was talking about the one that George has on Viva. So a "K24 hybrid" I should have said.

oh right you have an 05, in that case, don't mean to be the devils advocate, but wouldn't you want to get a M66 like the manual cars like yours came from the factory?

also, I'm not expert i auto to manual swaps, but can't you simply source a manual ECU, ditch the auto ECU and TCU and call it a day?

the ME7 ecu's require a reflash because each ecu is specific to that car and cannot be switched.

M66's are also harder to find than the M56.

Whatever you do, don't buy a set of used injectors and just throw them in. I've seen "good, lightly used" injectors flow as much as 20% off from one another.

Get 'em cleaned and rebuilt first!
