Ok, Possibly a stupid question.
But Is there a easy way to tell if a car has tracs or not? Vin Decoding?

I don't have access to it at the moment. but I'm getting questions about it.
98 s70 Turbo.

Also what would happen if you put a tracs ABS module on a non tracs car?

thought TRACS was standard.

my 98 s70 has a TRACS button to make it turn off and on. its on the INFO switch side

Hmm.. I thought so too, it's for Mom in Law, and I don't remember if it had a switch or not. she doesn't live too close but is asking me about it....
And her car is optioned a little "weird"
It's got a t5 sticker emblem, but pretty sure it's a GLT
Heated seats but no headlight wipers
It's got Pegs! (maybe the smaller ones. I don't know the tire size off hand)
and it's got the fender blinkers...

So I'm guessing it was owned by someone in the volvo scene, I'd like to know what the car is supposed to have/has for sure.

Sounds like it has Titans. If the car has TRACS, then there will be a button for turning it off, simple as that

Ahh, TItans... Thank you, I couldn't remember the name, and was too lazy to look it up. I know Comets/Meteors off hand, but anything else... not so much.
So Easiest way is button/no button?
Because 98's always had an off button if equiped? unlike some later years?

Correct. The TRACS had a button to disable it, the later models with DSTC had a button to turn off the stability control, but I think the underlying traction control is forced to remain on at all times.

Also, just a theory on my part, but if the car doesn't have TRACS, then I don't think there is a light on the dash for it when the car is first turned on.

The rims could also be 16" Satellites. They came standard on 2000 Rs and have an R etched in them like Pegs do. My car has the 17" Satellites so if you look up a picture of my car you can see what they look like.

wtf...my BASE has headlight wipers!!!! i didnt know they made models without them

also check the engine SN, it will tell you whether or not it's a T5
