thinking about changing my carpet from gray to black. How does the foot rest piece detach from the floor? Also will the rail the seat belt slides on need to be removed at the pivot bolt(14 mm)?

Seat: 14 mm bolts, there are 4 of them. Just rock the seat back and remove the carpet that way

Footrest: tap on the bottom of it to get it to pop up.

I use a 1/2" socket wrench w/ a socket on it to push up on the dead pedal from the bottom. Works every time without breaking it. Install is the same except I am pulling down from the top instead of pushing up.

On my 2000 C70 you have to push down to release the foot rest. I found out the hard way. Broke it trying to push up. Oh well should be one of the cheaper parts from the stealership.
